Cette saison se base sur le début du manga Yu-Gi-Oh ! Le jeu principal ici, ce n'est pas le Duel de Monstre. En fait, il n'y en a pas, et c'est bien de là que Yûgi tient son surnom de maître du jeu. En effet, dans cette saison au design particulier, on retrouvera un grand nombre de jeu, réels ou non, auquel Yûgi, ou plutôt Yami, son double, vont participer pour des raisons aussi diverses que des défis, des prises d'otages...

In the end, the man from Egypt loses and he tells Dark Yugi that he really is the owner of the Millennium Puzzle.
