À un arrêt de bus au fin fond du Brandebourg, où l'on peut pratiquement déjà deviner la fin de la Voie lactée, Hannes, la quarantaine bien sonnée, et son ami Ralf, dit Ralle, se retrouvent pour parler de Dieu et du monde. Leurs seuls liens avec un monde au-delà de l'arrêt de bus sont la conductrice Kathrin et le chien Maik, exceptionnellement stupide et laid.

The male friendship of Ralf and Johannes gets caught up in the problem of self-esteem. They both live alone and spend most of their time at the bus stop, awaiting the highlight of the day when the bus actually arrives at some point and with it Kathrin, the shaggy-haired, beautiful bus driver. But how could one possibly end up with the fabulous bus driver in their muddled life situation?

Johannes, who has been through similar lows, brings his accumulated therapeutic experience to bear. With the help of Johannes' emergency kit, the friends set out on the road to recovery.

There's a lot going on at the quiet bus stop: Ralf and Johannes are wrongly accused of having smeared Nazi slogans on the bus stop. And when the two finally remove the graffiti, neo-Nazis roll up and play a nasty trick on them: Humiliated and tied up, they are to be brought to justice - but the Nazis have done the math without Kathrin.

Chief Constable Britzke, Johannes' and Ralf's rival from old school days, wants to force the two to drop their charges against the Nazis. He explains to them the meaning of the term "rule of law" and destroys all evidence. Britzke simply wants peace in Brandenburg.

A little girl appears at the bus stop. Alone. Her single mother has fallen asleep on the bus, exhausted. Ralf and Johannes' fatherly instinct is awakened. But suddenly Maiki stands in front of the child with bared teeth - and our two don't recognize their four-legged friend...

Johannes and Ralf are expecting a visitor from Berlin: Johannes' niece Meike wants to make a documentary about life in Brandenburg and arrives with her cameraman Jan. After initial nervousness, it quickly becomes clear that the young people need a lot of coaching on socialism, the GDR and the reality of life. Prejudices have to be cleared out of the way.

For Ralf, however, it's not about pleasure; he's been suffering from a recurring nightmare for thirty years. Johannes won't let it go until Ralf has to reveal a long-held secret. A secret that even threatens their friendship. Kathrin is asked to mediate and sees only one way out...

At an anonymous funeral, Ralf and Hannes encounter the lonely Brandenburger dying so hard that they see their own end. The despair of a midlife crisis threatens. They fight back with all means, sensible ones and ones that only the two of them can come up with. Johannes comes dangerously close to his limits, but Kathrin is there and brings first him, then Ralf back into a life worth living.

While Ralf Paschke sees gentrification coming to the countryside, Johannes Ackermann lets bus driver Kathrin talk him into it. He gets old treasures out of the cellar and sees the tourists as a chance to get rid of all the junk. Or are they the danger to be fought after all?
Épisode 7 - That's not a test!

A season finale that couldn't be more beautiful or worse. Village sheriff Britzke provokes until Ralle Paschke can't help but get up from the bench and take action himself. Johannes, skeptical at first, helps him, but asks Paschke's resolute mother Ruth and Kathrin to join the team. The women bring Johannes out of the background and put him at Ralle's side. The fight is now a "double-header"...
