Lucky Flynn, pianiste talentueux, n'a plus parlé à sa famille depuis des années. Ayant développé une tendance à l'auto-destruction, il se dit que ce périple peut l'aider à aller mieux. Mais il va devoir faire ce voyage avec Meg, une adolescente pleine d'humour et bien décidée à le bousculer...
