Paolo Carli manages marble quarries in the Apuan Alps among a thousand unforeseen events. One of the lesser known and yet the oldest and most fascinating professions in Italy: the quarrymen. The world of marble has given birth to wonderful masterpieces, born from the sweat and toil of hard men, yet full of heart and passion. From the heart of Tuscany, from the slopes of its most suggestive mountains, this millenary craft is carried out, which is handed down from father to son.

Every year in Tuscany one and a half million cubic meters of marble are extracted from over 150 active quarries. Hundreds of quarrymen, aided by the most modern machines, feed the multi-million euro industry. Among these, one of the most important is Henraux. We follow the work of its quarrymen and discover how the precious marble is used by some of the most famous designers around the world.

At the Gioia quarry, the Antonioli brothers deal with a huge 1000-ton block that risks getting stuck in mid-fall.

At Henraux, Barbara desperately attempts to prepare the pieces to be displayed for order 555, however, the material is unfortunately insufficient. At the Bresci quarry, Luca continues his search for the Versilys requested by Barbara, but the complex and risky block reveals no sign of the precious material in the end. Will Luca and Barbara stubbornly continue their search or will they decide to abandon the excavation site?

Luca is struggling with a gigantic Versilis block that could resolve Barbara's problems, while at Gioia quarry the Antonioli brothers risk everything in a never-before-attempted overturning operation.
