Un groupe de Rescue Bots composé de Heatwave, Boulder, Lames et Chase répondent au message d’Optimus Prime, héros de Transformers (Prime et autres). Il leur a donné pour mission de se rendre sur Terre et de protéger la ville de Griffin Rock, dans le Maine. Ils se font alors passer pour de simples robots. Seule la famille Burns, composée de secouristes et avec qui ils collaborent, est au courant de leur vraie nature. Ensemble, ils apprennent le travail d'équipe et la bravoure aux côtés de leurs amis humains.
