La destruction d'Unicron a laissé derrière un immense trou noir qui menace d'absorber Cybertron. Optimus prime fait évacuer Cybertron. C'est alors que va apparaître Vector prime un des 13 fils de Primus. Il dit que jadis la planète Cybertron avait été Primus et qu'il existe un moyen de le réactiver en récupérant les 4 fragments de son spark, les Cyber-clefs, dispersés dans diverses planètes qui ont été colonisé par les Transformers au cours du temps. Dans le même temps, le Soleil créé dans Transformers : Energon a été détruit par le trou noir, libérant Mégatron et Starscream qui recomposent une armée de Decepticans dans l'ambition de récupérer les Cyber-Clefs pour s'approprier le pouvoir de Primus.

Vector Prime then decides that he must act to save the universe and destroy the black hole.
