Sam réside à Waxhaw, en Caroline du Nord. Il a décidé de simplifier sa vie et de construire avec ses filles, Briana et Morgan, sa nouvelle habitation. Pour ce projet, il s'est inspiré des cabanes et des châteaux-forts de son enfance. Ce sera donc une mini-maison d'aventurier : douche à l'extérieur, mur d'escalade qui mènera à la terrasse sur le toit d'où partira une tyrolienne.
