Th fate and the intrigues of Josefina and Roberta lead Jerónimo to mistakenly believe that Renata had a relationship with her half-brother Rafael, and that he, feeling betrayed and used by her, committed suicide. For this reason, Jerónimo swears before Rafael's tomb that his death will not go unpunished, and despite the deep love he has for Renata, he cheats on her and decides to make her suffer so that she pays for all the supposed pain she caused her brother. .
