Jeon Nok Du vit sur une île avec son père et son frère, un jour, Jeon Nok Du est attaqué par une bande d'assassins qui s'en prend à sa famille. Il parvient à s'en débarrasser et en blesse un qu'il suit jusqu'à la capitale. Il s'aperçoit ainsi qu'il s'agit d'une femme qui va le conduire jusqu'au village de veuves où les hommes sont bannis. Afin de déceler la vérité sur son identité et la raison de cet attaque, il se déguise, alors, en femme afin d'infiltrer le village. Il y retrouve Dong Dong Ju, rencontrée précédemment à la capitale, qui suit une formation pour devenir gisaeng (courtisane), même si celle-ci ne souhaite pas en devenir une. Jeon Nok Du et Dong Dong Ju vont ensemble tout faire pour éviter leur destinée respective et découvrir la vérité.

In return, she asks Yul Mu to tell the King that Nok Du has died.

Nok Du volunteers to keep working with the widows. And the wedding ceremony for Nok Du and Dong Joo is held. Every resident on the island comes to celebrate the couple. Nine years later, Yul Mu raises a revolt and takes away the throne. The Queen is sent to the island where Nok Du and Dong Joo live.
