La clinique Fitzpatrick est l’endroit de la dernière chance pour les animaux malades ou blessés. Avec deux cent cas par mois, c’est l’une des cliniques vétérinaires les plus importantes au monde. Le surprenant chirurgien Noel Fitzpatrick y dirige une équipe de 100 auxiliaires, physiothérapeutes et hydrothérapeutes. Avec plusieurs salles d’opération, une piscine de rééducation et un service de radiologie, le niveau de soin est à la hauteur de celui habituellement réservé aux hommes.

Un jeune lapin, Speedy, s’est blessé la patte. Mais la réparer ne va pas être une mince affaire, car ses os sont minuscules. Noel fait tout ce qu’il peut pour sauver la patte de Snoopy qui a été broyée par une camionnette puis tentera de comprendre ce dont souffre Winston, un jeune bulldog anglais subitement incapable d’utiliser ses pattes arrières.

Le sort s’acharne sur Dolly, le bulldog anglais longtemps exploité avant d’être abandonné. Mais ses nouvelles maîtresses n’ont pas l’intention de la laisser tomber. Un instrument inhabituel va être utilisé pour diagnostiquer Lola, le lévrier qui boîte. Si Noel ne parvient pas à soigner Anya, le chien policier, son maître-chien n’aura pas d’autre choix que de la faire euthanasier.

Henry, un jeune cockapoo qui a foncé dans un pot de fleur, pourrait bien souffrir d'une fracture de la nuque.

Star, le dogue allemand, souffre tellement que son comportement a changé du tout au tout. Noel doit absolument trouver ce qui ne va pas. Une opération est nécessaire pour sauver la patte d'Ollie qu'une voiture a renversé. Zak, le border collie, doit absolument se faire poser une prothèse à chaque hanche. Sa maîtresse est tellement angoissée qu'elle a du mal à quitter la clinique.

L’état des coudes du dogue de Bordeaux Reggie est extrêmement préoccupant.

Sam, qui souffre d’une maladie congénitale rare, espère réussir à faire soigner Scooby qu’elle considère comme son âme sœur chien.
