En Egypte, il y a 4000 ans. Taïta, esclave de la reine Lostris, a pour mission de consigner la vie du pharaon Mamosé sur sept papyrus, qu'il devra emporter dans sa sépulture. Pour l'heure, il doit confier aux eaux du Nil, un nouveau-né qui porte autour du cou un médaillon sacré à l'effigie du dieu du fleuve. Le Caire, au XXe siècle : Nick Harper, archéologue et aventurier, échappe de peu à une embuscade. Il part rejoindre son ami l'archéologue Duraid, qui a entrepris des fouilles pour tenter de retrouver la tombe du pharaon Mamosé. Sur le point d'aboutir dans ses recherches, Duraid est assassiné par les hommes de Grant Schiller, qui recherche également le tombeau depuis plus de dix ans. Sa femme Royan et leur fils adoptif Hapi arrivent à s'échapper et sont sauvés par un serpent géant qui surgit du fleuve. Avant de mourir, Duraid avait mis au jour la tombe de l'esclave Taïta dont les mémoires sur papyrus doivent indiquer l'emplacement de la sépulture de Mamosé. Mais le septième papyrus, qui est très endommagé, ne révèle pas la clé de l'énigme...

Épisode 1 - Part 1

In the year 3000 BC an illegitimate son is born to Queen Lostris and the brave warrior Tanus. Her devoted eunuch Taita, a loyal servant, takes the baby boy and places him in a basket on the Nile. Five thousand years later, during our time, famous archaeologist Duraid al Simma and his wife Royan discover Queen Lostris's grave at the same spot, with ten scrolls inside it resembling a form of diary. The seventh scroll, which contains directions to Mamose's magnificent tomb with the legendary treasure, disappears without trace. Soon afterwards the couple adopt an unusual boy who displays an almost magical urge to be close to the Nile, so they name him after the river god Hapi. It is only ten years later that Taita's secret is almost solved
