The Pretenders consists of a team of four associates who run a "simulation" business, solving the problems and the needs of their clients by staging simulacros (simulations). The simulations are aimed at confusing whoever is giving their clients a problem (bosses, criminals, husbands, wives, unscrupulous businessmen, etc), thus helping the client come on top of the situation. The underlying philosophy used by the team was that sometimes what's legal is not fair, and sometimes what's fair is not legal.

A man named Galvan is devastated when his wife Claudia moves out and intends to divorce him. Noticing his situation, his neightbor gives him the number of "Los Simuladores" ("The Pretenders"), a group of people who solve people's problems with quite unorthodox methods.

Los Simuladores la involucrarán en una delirante historia acerca de un pacto entre nazis y comunistas rusos basado en un maletín con un peligroso virus. Todo para que Laura se enamore perdidamente de Torelli, un frustrado hombre que está enamorado de Laura.

Franco Milazzo es un estafador que se hace pasar por un representante de artistas. Los Simuladores, contratados por uno de los estafados, se enteran de que Milazzo tiene una ambición de fama reprimida, un físico muy cuidado y una afición fuerte hacia las películas y situaciones de supervivencia y acción. El grupo tratará de reclutarlo en un operativo en el que serán productores de un falso reality show donde los participantes deben sobrevivir por un año en un lugar aislado y peligroso.

Clara está de novia con Federico, que proviene de una familia muy elegante y adinerada. En ocasión de un cumpleaños, Clara es invitada a la fiesta para presentar a su familia. El problema es que la familia de Clara es totalmente impresentable, además de ser de bajos recursos económicos. Los Simuladores se encargarán, no sólo que la familia de Clara no sea insufrible durante la fiesta, sino que les caiga más que bien a la familia de Federico y a todos sus invitados.

Crucitti es un comisario corrupto que atemoriza a los dueños de los locales, que si no acceden a pagar por protección, estos se infiltran en los locales y destrozan el lugar y la mercadería. Los Simuladores se encargarán que Crucciti deje de atemorizarlos. Tomando como dato que el comisario es un experto en materia de encuentros cercanos, el operativo de simulacro se basará nada más y nada menos que en hacerse pasar por miembros de la NASA y el FBI para tomarlo a Crucciti como colaborador foráneo en un proyecto que incluye un seguro contacto extraterrestre.
Épisode 12 - Marcela & Paul

Marcela es una mujer que aún no puede aceptar el hecho de estar divorciada. Esto genera mucha preocupación en su hija, por lo que recurre a Los Simuladores. Tomando como dato que ella es una gran fanática de Los Beatles, ponen en marcha un operativo que consiste en un encuentro con Paul McCartney, con la misión de devolverle las ganas de vivir a Marcela.

Lembergier se ve amenazado por su compañero Sontag, quien está en prisión. Si Lembergier no logra su libertad, los socios de este último lo matarían. Los Simuladores deciden no tomar el caso pero Lembergier secuestra a Santos y el grupo es amenazado a realizar el operativo, que consistirá en hacer creer que Sontag estuvo involucrado en el robo de una invaluable pieza artística en Italia y de esa manera, sacarlo de la prisión.

A two-part episode. The victim from the ninth chapter of the first season comes back from the jungle seeking to kill the team for having tricked him and stolen from him almost one million pesos (at that time, almost USD200,000). The team then makes a simulation to make him believe that it was a test, and then train him to kill Osama Bin Laden. The team also works to convince an ambitious corporate employee to return home and help his father and sister with the family business. This is the team's final job, as they decide to quit for some time and go their separate ways.
