La famille Koçova, avec à sa tête Idriss, est une famille mafieuse, qui vit principalement du trafic d’armes dans l’un des quartiers les plus dangereux d’Istanbul, surnommé çukur (la fosse). Ils ont aussi une main dans tous les autres trafics qui ont cours dans çukur, comme les gangs organisés de voleurs, ou encore la prostitution.çukur est depuis la fin des années 70 sous la protection d’Idriss Koçovali qui a vu ce quartier naître. Mais tout bascule lorsqu’un jeune mafieux dénommé Vartolu débarque dans la Fosse pour y monter un labo de fabrication de drogues.

The Pit (Çukur), that İdris Koçovalı has built with his own hands, is the heart of İstanbul; in fact it is Istanbul! There's no room for any danger that could threaten the neighborhood. Yamaç is a daytime chemist and a nighttime musician who has ran away from this neighborhood years ago for some reason. The young man's life changes as their paths cross with Sena who is a feisty personality like himself. While the two of them are dragged into a passionate love affair; Çukur is on the verge of a storm with Vartolu's arrival. The same storm will drag Yamaç towards The Pit and his past that he has abandoned a long time ago. After all everybody will ultimately return to The Pit.
