Lin Zhi Xiao est une jeune violoncelliste en herbe qui cherche à démarrer sa carrière alors qu'elle se prépare à obtenir son diplôme universitaire. À la veille de l'obtention de son diplôme universitaire, le père de Lin Zhi Xiao se fait hospitaliser pour un cancer l'obligeant à abandonner les possibilités d'emploi qu'elle espérait et à rompre avec son petit ami. Tous ses espoirs et ses rêves d'avenir sont alors anéantis. Au même moment, Gu Wei, le médecin traitant de son père, entre dans sa vie.
