Walt Disney strikes gold with synchronized sound in "Steamboat Willie". The Warner brothers conscript Leon Schlesinger into producing animated shorts based around songs from their record label. Enter the team of Hugh Harman & Rudolf Ising, and their star creation Bosko the Talk-Ink Kid. Spoiler alert: he's a bit problematic.

Leon Schlesinger has assembled a ragtag group of young animators in a shabby, vermin-infested building on the Warner Bros. backlot in Los Angeles.
