It's not easy being new in primary school. At least not for Floor's mother Hannah. Hannah has the feeling she just make contact with a brand new species of humans and that's even before she meets Floor's teacher, the singing miss Ank.

Director Anton meets the new janitor Volkert, an ex-soldier, who is more in control in school than Anton will ever be. Miss Ank decides its time to stop the parents from waving too much to their children and she is making a true effort to stop them.

Director Anton decides that traditional fest of Sinterklaas has had his best days. So he invents a replacement for Sinterklaas, the more modern “Winterklaas” who lives with his polar bears on the Northpole. But not everyone thinks this is a good idea.

A new school year at The Ivy. Hannah has been promoted to class mother and Juf Ank and her students passed to group 4. Director Anton has invested heavily in a new strategy: The Ivy must become the safest school in the region. He is also delighted by a new student: Ahmed.

Miss Helma is approaching her retirement, so a vacancy will be posted. Miss Ank and Miss Helma are fascinated by applicant Matthis. Walter and Kenneth are worried about Rianne, who suddenly labelled as a trans person. Meanwhile, the boys' toilets are clogged, so everyone has to go to the ladies' rooms.

Director Anton makes every effort to arrange a BN'er for the closing party of the Children's Book Week. In the meantime, Hannah and Nancy both give a different interpretation to the reading corner.

The Ivy is getting ready for Christmas. Hannah coordinates the Christmas dinner of group 4, but hits turbulence due to allergies and dietary requirements. Director Anton and Nancy want to perform the traditional Christmas story with the teachers, but Pyotr-Jan will not stand for that: after all, the Ivy is a public primary school.

Nancy has to arrange someone for the school photos last-minute, so this year friend Anne-Mart is the photographer. She has quite curious ideas that not everyone appreciates. The teachers prepare for a study day, where they learn to give each other positive feedback.

The annual sponsor run is on the doorstep again. This year, director Anton wants to raise more money than the other primary schools in the neighborhood, so he lets concierge Volkert make the circles a bit shorter. The parents in the schoolyard trump each other with which child will collect the most money. In the meantime, Miss Ank has started a crusade against sugar.

There is a lice breakout in Miss Ank's class. All lice mothers are called up to fluff, because only when everyone is lice-free can the school camp continue. Walter and Kenneth are worried about Mother’s Day: why don’t they get a present as a father? Meanwhile, director Anton receives sad news.
