In 1987, soldier Patrick Provis was left fighting for his life after being hit by an IRA mortar. Facing extraordinary dangers, an army helicopter flew in to rescue him and, against the odds, Patrick survived. Now desperate to draw a line under the trauma that continues to haunt him, Patrick can't rest until he’s thanked the person who took the decision to rescue him. His girlfriend lost her life and he now wants to track down the three men who rescued him so that he can move forward with his life. Beverley Cox’s grew up in Kenya but her time living there was was overshadowed by her turbulent relationship with her father. Kak stepped in as her protector and treated her like his own daughter. Beverley now hopes to be reunited with him.

Peter Miles was jailed for his part in a series of aggressive armed robberies across Bristol and he is determined to turn his back on a lifetime of crime. He wants to have the chance to say sorry to those his crimes affected. Pauline was rushed to hospital to give birth to her daughter and she wants to thank a stranger who took her to the hospital.
