Now sidelined due to injury and age, former pro-wrestling star Juichi Miyama was once groomed by his father, Jusaburo, an acclaimed Noh actor and “Living National Treasure,” to be his successor. But the young Juichi rebelled, left home, and cut off ties with his family. Now he’s just learned that his father, having miraculously survived a critical illness, intends to marry his young caregiver and leave all his money to her. So Juichi decides to return home to help with his father’s care, setting the stage for a showdown between Juichi’s family on one side and his father’s mysterious caregiver on the other.

Épisode 1 - Episode 1

As a boy, pro-wrestler Juichi Miyama was trained by his father to become a Noh actor. But the young Juichi rebelled and left home. Now he’s learned that his dying father, Jusaburo, intends to marry his young caregiver and leave her all his money. So Juichi returns home, setting the stage for a showdown with the mysterious caregiver.

Jusaburo’s sudden announcement that Juichi will succeed him as head of the Noh troupe is met with disbelief by his pupils. In an attempt to put their doubts to rest, Jusaburo promises that Juichi will perform the classic play Takasago in just one week’s time. Meanwhile, Juichi’s youngest brother, Yosuke, begins digging into Sakura’s past after finding information online suggesting that her father’s young fiancée is a professional gold-digger.

To earn back a large sum of money he’s borrowed from Sakura, Juichi steps back into the ring on behalf of a fellow wrestler. Afterward, while rushing home to check on his father, he gets a call saying that Jusaburo has had a fall and is in hospital. Later, Juichi apologizes to his siblings for leaving their father home all alone.

Having returned to the ring in the guise of a masked wrestler, Juichi is determined to fulfill his father’s final wishes. But he can’t make head or tail of Jusaburo’s written instructions to “settle my score with Jugemu.” Meanwhile, the Noh troupe decides that Juichi’s 16-year-old nephew, Daisu, and 10-year-old son, Hideo, should perform regularly. But Daisu is frequently late for rehearsals and increasingly acts rebellious. In contrast to the promising Hideo, Daisu reminds Juichi of himself as a teenager.

Jugemu’s attitude changes after learning he and Juichi are actually half-brothers, and he rebels against Juichi’s position as their father’s heir. Meanwhile, Sakura, suspecting Juichi has returned to the wrestling ring, becomes intent on finding out if it’s true. Against this backdrop, Juichi begins planning a vacation for Jusaburo and his entire family.

But their journey takes some unexpected detours when Jusaburo asks to visit a few of his former lovers so he can apologize to them. The Miyamas end their family vacation on a high note, breaking into song on the drive home. As soon as they return, Jusaburo starts a course of physical therapy. Meanwhile, Sakura, having confessed her feelings to Juichi during the trip, is still waiting for an answer to her question. The next day, Juichi goes to his brother’s law firm to discuss his son’s legal custody with Yuka, his ex-wife. But she’s not pleased when she finds out what he has in mind for the promising young Hideo.

Juichi finally confesses his feelings for Sakura, but for the time being, they decide to keep their relationship a secret from the rest of the family. Meanwhile, Jusaburo announces his intention to make a new will. The next day, when his father tells him that the troupe is to begin rehearsing a new play, Juichi finds himself having to juggle his commitments to Noh and professional wrestling at the same time. Later, he tears his Achilles tendon and becomes confined to a wheelchair for two weeks. With Jusaburo in a wheelchair too, life starts getting a bit tense around the Miyama household!

With his younger siblings gone and Jusasburo in a long-term care facility, Juichi finds himself alone in the house, and he devotes himself to practicing Noh. Then, after six months away, Jugemu suddenly returns, having realized that Noh means everything to him. Meanwhile, a weekly magazine reporter shows Yosuke an article featuring a picture of Jusaburo exercising at his nursing home. With another crisis looming, can Juichi manage to hold the family together?

After sneaking home from his long-term care facility, Jusaburo suffers a third cerebral hemorrhage that leaves him in critical condition. Surrounded by his family and students, he says his farewells and prepares for death, only to make a miraculous recovery. Meanwhile, Juichi is hard at work rehearsing the play “Sumida River” for the Noh troupe’s annual spring performance.
