Cece Parker Jones, une ado Afro-Américaine de 15 ans, voit son rêve le plus cher se réaliser lorsqu'elle est acceptée à l’École de Danse de l'Opéra de Paris ! Mais dès son arrivée, rien ne va pas se passer comme prévu. Dans l'herboristerie de sa tante Ginger, Cece découvre un livre de famille contenant toutes sortes de formules magiques. En parcourant le grimoire, elle rompt accidentellement le sortilège qui la protégeait depuis l'enfance, révélant son identité à de dangereux sorciers. L’adolescente devra dès lors jongler entre la pression de l’Opéra, l’apprentissage du ballet, ses résultats à l’école… tout en nouant de nouvelles amitiés et en vivant ses premiers amours. Un programme chargé pour Cece, qui devra aussi apprendre à apprivoiser ses pouvoirs magiques sans dévoiler au monde l’existence de son double de sorcière…
