Un an après avoir perdu sa femme sur sa propre table d’opération, Evandro, chirurgien brillant mais brisé, ne va toujours pas mieux. Fragilisé sur le plan affectif et hanté par le passé, il est accro à l’oxycodone. Mais sa passion pour son métier demeure intacte et il est bien décidé à sauver tous les habitants des favelas qui franchissent la porte de son hôpital de la périphérie. Les enjeux sont importants mais les ressources sont gravement insuffisantes. Evandro et son équipe doivent inventer des solutions créatives.
