Cette série met en scène un puma au poil rose passionné de littérature shakespearienne qui rêve de devenir un grand acteur, mais il se trouve que cette espèce de puma est très recherchée : il est donc la cible préférée des chasseurs. Mais ses talents d'acteur le sortent régulièrement des situations les plus cocasses. Son juron favori était (en français) : « Ciel d'Afrique et patte de gazelle ! »

A couple of hillbillies are feuding over the hand of a mountain gal named Suzy-sal. To settle the fight she declares that she will marry the first one who can find her a genuine mountain lion fur to make a coat. Guess who the hillbillies run into in the woods? You guessed it, Snagglepuss.
