Son Mu Han and An Soon Jin each live a lonely life full of troubles. Mu Han finds out that his dog’s cancer is back and becomes frustrated. However, he ends up locking himself in his bathroom while taking a shower. Meanwhile, Soon Jin is chased by a loan shark and gets fired from her work. In her attempts to get her job back, she meets Ji Min, her superior.

Mu Han is finally saved from his bathroom after being trapped for four days. Soon Jin finally gives in and decides to go out on her date fixed by Mi Ra. Mu Han shows up as Soon Jin’s date, but she does not recognize him at all. However, Mu Han recognizes her and remembers how they met six years ago.

As these coincidences continue, to Mu Han, it feels like perhaps they were meant to be. He tells Soon Jin that he has developed feelings for her, but he fears that his greed may end up doing more harm. To this, she asks him to love her, that she wants to be loved.

Kyung Soo brings Soon Jin to her mom's place. She refuses to go in and says that every time she thinks about her mother, she is reminded of that day. She says that no matter how hard she tries, she can't forgive her. Mi Ra asks In Woo to push Mu Han into making more progress with Soon Jin. Soon Jin tells her sister that she's in a relationship.

Soon Jin's heart begins to flutter at the sight of Mu Han and the words he says. Ha Min tells Kyung Soo to ask I Deun to call it even. He says that he doesn't need the settlement money if that means that he can help Soon Jin. Kyung Soo confronts Suk Young and asks about Mu Han. Meanwhile, Mu Han and Soon Jin finally sleep together.

Soon Jin gets a room at a study hostel. Mu Han cancels the charges against Soon Jin, but Suk Young demands a reinvestigation. When Kyung Soo finds out that there will be a reinvestigation, he goes to Mu Han to confront him. Upon his arrival at Mu Han’s office, he finds Mu Han writhing in pain. Soon Jin tells Mi Ra that she feels bad for trying to leech off of Mu Han.

Soon Jin decides to stay by Mu Han's side. While looking for the various places Mu Han hid his medication, she finds a document. On the document, she sees that Mu Han had registered their marriage behind her back. She questions why he did such a thing. Soon Jin and Mu Han go on a date to the aquarium. Soon Jin is reminded of her daughter and shares her story with Mu Han. Meanwhile, Soon Jin meets with I Deun and tells her to move in.

After finding out that Mu Han was the man from the advertising agency that left her standing in the rain, Soon Jin is consumed with anger and betrayal. I Deun decides to move into Mu Han’s home. Unbeknownst to Mu Han, Soon Jin had prepared a room for I Deun so that she could spend some time with him. Meanwhile, Suk Young tries to convince Mu Han to tell Soon Jin about his decision.
Épisode 32 - He’s Trying to Disappear

Suk Young decides to tell Soon Jin about Mu Han’s decision. Upon hearing it, she decides that she won’t leave him. In Woo tells Mi Ra that Mu Han has decided to end his life on his own accord. Mu Han continues to push everyone away, but no one budges. The CEO of Apollo Confectionary comes to Mu Han to make a deal so that he won’t stand as a witness on Soon Jin’s behalf. Meanwhile, the second trial for Da On’s case starts.

When Soon Jin's lawyer doesn't show up to the second trial for her daughter's case, she is disheartened once again. Kyung Soo gets locked up for hitting Chairman Park. He finds out that they are having a retrial for Da On's case when Chairman Park's lawyer offers him a deal. Soon Jin and Mu Han go to the park where she tried to end her life. Through sincere apology and forgiveness, the two face each other as themselves without any masks.

I Deun continues to reach out to her dad, and surprisingly Mu Han reciprocates. Meanwhile, Mu Han leaves his job to focus on his time with Soon Jin.

It's Mu Han's 50th birthday. While it's a special day, inevitably, there's a dark cloud hanging overhead as it may be his last birthday. Mu Han is disappointed when Soon Jin doesn't seem to have anything planned for this day. All he wants is to spend some time with Soon Jin and I Deun to commemorate a special day. Meanwhile, unit 401 barges into Mu Han's home looking for her cat.
Épisode 40 - Thank Goodness I Met Her

Despite being disappointed that no one has mentioned his birthday, Mu Han tries hard to hide it. While he's feeling sorry for himself, he sees unit 401's cat on his mantle. Mu Han finds out that she is a wicked lady, who cares only for herself. After a day of doing things that would've been out of his nature in the past, Mu Han is shocked to return home to find a surprise party waiting for him. He realizes how much Soon Jin has changed him for the better.
