Les nombreux soupçons autour de deux meurtres choquants dans un village minier menacent d’aggraver les vieilles tensions qui divisent des familles depuis la grève des mineurs des années 1980. Pour démasquer le tueur, l’inspecteur de police Ian Sr Clair et l’officier Kevin Salisbury doivent se plonger dans les anciennes rancoeurs des habitants. Plus les deux enquêteurs découvrent des informations sur cette communauté brisée, plus ils réalisent combien les gens ne sont pas vraiment ce qu'ils prétendent être.
