Nanako Yukishiro est une jeune fille mignonne et joviale qui a une petite particularité. À l'école comme à la maison, elle communique avec les autres en écrivant des senryu, une forme de poèmes courts similaires aux haiku, qui l'aident à exprimer ses pensées et ses sentiments. Avec Eiji Busujima, ancien délinquant, elle fait partie du club de littérature de son lycée et bien qu'elle ne parle pas, elle apporte une grande dose de fraîcheur au groupe.
