Le Selection Project est un événement annuel très important pour les personnes désirants devenir des idols. C'est aussi la scène qui a vu naître Amazawa Akari, la légendaire idol. L'histoire nous entraîne dans le quotidien de Miyama Suzune, une jeune fille qui rêve de pouvoir participer à cet événement. Étant malade depuis son enfance, elle écoutait souvent les chansons d'Akari dans son lit d'hôpital. Lors de son dernier été de collégienne, Suzune décide de participer au 7e Selection Project afin de réaliser son rêve. Face à des milliers de candidates, va-t-elle réussir à se frayer un chemin et atteindre la finale ?
