In this world, there is no one, rich or poor, who does not own a PET (PErsonal Terminal), and there is not one PET that does not house a NetNavi, an AI Unit that has the power to delete Viruses and the like. Net Battles (where Operators battle their NetNavis) are popular in this era. That is where Operator Hikari Netto and his NetNavi and best friend, Rockman come in. Striving to become the best NetBattlers, they fight Net Crime and protect the net and real world alike from the likes of the evil World 3.

Épisode 1 - Plug-in! Rockman!

Netto, after losing yet another battle against his friend Dekao, finally receives his own custom-designed Net Navi from his father! He soon meets his navi, Rockman, and is disappointed with his size... until Rockman easily disposes of some viruses in Netto's oven! Netto challenges Dekao to a rematch the next day, but is interrupted when Meiru's oven catches fire, trapping her inside the house! The hacker behind this attack is World Three member Hinoken, with his Net Navi Fireman! English version title - Jack-In! MegaMan!

Dekao is hospitalized after a robotic cat latches itself to his leg. But that's not the only electronic device that malfunctions when the entire city is hit with a weird electric wave, causing the technology to go haywire and attack the innocent! Netto and Meiru chase a toy dog onto a subway when it steals Mariko's handbag, but they soon learn that the culprit behind the electric wave, Count Elec (with Net Navi Elecman), are causing the subway to speed out of control! Everyone is in awe over Ayano-Kouji Yaito, the new girl in their class. She flaunts incredible intelligence and wealth, and easily becomes a popular student in her class. Meanwhile, World Three member Madoi is using her Net Navi, Coloredman, to hack into traffic signal lights all over the city, causing huge traffic jams and pile-ups! Yaito soon becomes caught in one of the traffic jams, and an embarassing secret is revealed... she has a very small bladder! She sends her Net Navi, Glyde, to solve the problem, but he gets attacked by Coloredman! Netto and Rockman go to solve the problem. English version title - Traffic Signal Chaos!

Épisode 4 - Count to Three!

Higure Yamitaro, a guest speaker at Netto's school, is one major chip otaku. But the nerd has a bigger secret... he's eyeballing Yaito's expensive, rare chips, and when he gets the chance... he locks everyone (except Netto) in a classroom! He forces Glyde to do combat with his Numberman, or else he'll delete the school network's data! Netto sends Rockman to save Glyde, but he's blocked by a polyvirus barrier. Rockman and Roll work together to crack the barrier's passwords and rescue Glyde! In the end, Higure gives up his evil ways. English version title - Count to Three!

Épisode 5 - Challenge of the Fish Stampede!

Fish-monger Masa is upset with Netto and his possé because they don't spend enough time outside, so he has them all work-out in the great outdoors! Meanwhile, the World Three has hatched another plan: they're using jellyfish viruses to have robotic fish attack the city! Netto and co. are soon on the run from a robotic shark, while Rockman and Glyde do battle with the jellyfish viruses. Netto eventually makes his way to the robotics aquarium, where he finds an ElecSword battle chip to defeat the jellyfish with. English version title - Robotic Fish Gone Wild!

Épisode 6 - Subzero Temperatures!

Madoi has kidnapped a young boy's father and is forcing the boy, Tohru, to do her evil bidding to save his father. Tohru's father, Seiji, is a worker at the water factory, so Madoi now has access to turn off the city's water! Netto and co. visit Yaito, who sends Glyde to investigate the problem... but he finds the entire water factory network has been iced over! Everyone rushes to the factory when Glyde becomes frozen solid, and Rockman encounters a Net Navi named Iceman. Netto rescues Seiji, and it's soon discovered that Iceman belongs to Tohru. Not only that, but Madoi plans to use Coloredman to delete Iceman, and pump bacteria-infested water back into the city! English version title - Ice Ice Baby!

Everyone is stoked about the newest VR video-game from Gabcom, but no one can get reservations! Netto, Meiru, and Dekao then remember that Yaito's father is the president of Gabcom, who agrees to let them play the new game for free... but not until midnight of it's release date. Meanwhile, Count Elec is hacking into progressively stronger security systems, and the next target? The security protecting the Gabcom game data! English version title - Game Off!

The burning passion in Hinoken's heart is nothing but a fizzle after his defeat to Netto, back in episode 1. He's decided to get his revenge on Netto by luring him into a trap... but none of his attacks throughout the city are drawing Netto's attention! That's because Netto is currently fueding with Meiru, who he teased after one of Hinoken's attacks effected her hair dryer and gave her an embarassing new doo. Eventually, Fireman gives Rockman's battle invite to Roll, but Roll... wanting to prove her strength, goes up against Fireman herself! English version title - Hot Tempers!

The N1 Grand Prix tournament is approaching, and everyone is excited to hear that the Mahajarama yoga show will offer battle tips for the tourney! Netto and Meiru are late to see the show, but that's fortunate... it was a trap by World Three member Mahajarama! Everyone who watched the show (which was the entire city) now thinks they're wild animals! Netto heads to the television station to stop Mahajarama and his Net Navi, Magicman, but they may need some help from an arrogant net battler. English version title - The Yoga Warrior!

Épisode 10 - N1 Grand Prix!

Everyone is training really hard for the approaching N1 Grand Prix, even the World Three! Higure has upgraded Numberman to such a high level that he loses control and begins causing mayhem all throughout the city! He rushes to Netto and co. and pleads for help, but Numberman is very powerful now! Tohru reappears to send his navi, Iceman, to help... but Numberman is still too strong! The day is eventually saved by a mysterious, skeleton navi, but he escapes soon after. With that problem solved, everyone rushes to the tournament; Dekao's match is first! He takes an easy win, and Netto becomes stoked about the future of this tournament. English version title - The N1 Grand Prix!

Épisode 11 - Invisible Enemy!

Tohru has his first match in the N1 Grand Prix, and Netto is surprised when the outcome of the battle is predicted perfectly by fortune-teller Miyuki! Netto becomes intimidated when he discovers that his first opponent in the tournament is none other than Miyuki, with her Net Navi Skullman (the same navi that stopped Numberman in the last episode)! Not only that... but Miyuki has predicted that Netto will lose the match! Will Netto's loss in the tournament be this early on? Can he really change destiny? English version title - Skullmania!

Meiru's first match in the tournament is coming up, and she soon develops a grudge against her opponent: Madoi! Meanwhile, Netto is also beginning his second tournament match... it's against Hinoken! Finally, the two can have a rematch. But, are these World Three members planning to play fair? Roll and Coloredman have a decent, humorous fight... until Madoi begins cheating by blinding Meiru with the glare from her make-up mirror. Yaito gives her a taste of her own medicine when she blinds her with her shiny forehead, letting Meiru take a victory! The battle between Rockman and Fireman is still going, and neither one plans to let their guard down. However, Hinoken doesn't intend on fighting this match fairly. He soon inputs a virus that causes the entire stadium to heat up like an oven. Not only that, but Fireman is being powered by solar energy! The heat is challenging Netto's consciousness, and Fireman is easily overpowering Rockman! Yaito, Dekao, and Tohru set out to stop the viruses behind this program and rescue Netto. Just in the nick of time, Netto and Rockman are able to pull through and defeat Fireman, with the help of their friends! After the match, Higure and Saroma have a match with each other, in which Saroma takes an easy win. English version title - Wacky Maddness and Blazing Battles!

Épisode 14 - Street Fight!

Everyone takes a break from the festivities of the tournament, and Higure reveals that he'll be a co-commentator with Kero during the tourney. Yaito decides to invite her friends out to dinner at an expensive restaraunt, but their night is ruined when they meet up with the rude Enzan. Netto chases after him on the streets and demands to net battle for how he was acting. Enzan's immensely powerful Net Navi, Blues, easily overcomes Rockman, but neither Netto or Rockman want to give up. Meanwhile, two mysterious World Three navis send viruses after Rockman and Blues to delete them! Netto, using a Long Sword chip he received from his father, unintentionally triggers a Program Advance! Netto vowes to master the technique and to defeat Enzan next time. Épisode 15 - Intensive Training! Program Advance!

Netto goes into training before his next N1 Grand Prix match so that he can master the Program Advance, Beta Sword. Miyuki offers to help as well, while Commander Beef intentionally drags out his match against Whaleman to give Netto more training time. It's finally time for Netto's next match... a rematch against Mahajarama and his Net Navi, Magicman! Rockman struggles against Magicman's virus barrage, but Netto eventually attempts another Program Advance. Fortunately, it succeeds, and Netto wins! But Enzan decides to flaunt his skills next. He goes up against Count Elec, who hacks into the stadium and disables Enzan to see the match. However, Enzan easily performs a Program Advance and deletes Elecman without even looking! Épisode 16 - Net Navis of Wonder!

Netto is determined to master using the Program Advance without looking, just like Enzan did. Meanwhile, Tohru and Meiru have a match against each other! After a hectic match, Roll eventually comes out victorious over Tohru's Iceman! After their match, the 2-on-2 matches begin in the N1 Grand Prix. The first match features two mysterious navis, Bombman and Stoneman, operated by two incredibly tall men in cloaks. However, their opponents never show up for the match, so Bomb/Stone win by default! Netto and Dekao are suspicious that these two may be World Three members, especially when the cloaked men throw the two into the ocean! Saroma rescues them and takes Dekao to the stadium; the next 2-on-2 match is Gutsman/Woodman VS. Bombman/Stoneman! Halfway through the match, it's discovered that the cloaked men are robots, and Bomb/Stone are independent Net Navis! They then defeat Gutsman and Woodman effortlessly, and threaten to take out Rockman next. English version title - The Solo NetNavis

Épisode 17 - Commander Beef's True Identity!

The next 2-on-2 match is Netto and Commander Beef against Bombman and Stoneman! Masa gives Netto a lot of encouragement before the match. After it starts, Rockman and Beef's Sharkman get a good lead against Bombman and Stoneman... but being World Three members, the two have a plan up their sleeves. They transport Sharkman and Rockman through a worm-hole and take them to a mysterious network, away from the aid of battle chips! It's the lighthouse near the stadium, so Beef and Netto rush off to save their navis. But the lighthouse is being guarded by the robots from last episode! Épisode 18 - Secret Operation! World Three!

The N1 Grand Prix decides to have a special contest! People who have lost in the tournament will be chosen at random to get back into the game! However, the World Three has a plan. Hinoken and Madoi hack into the contest system and make sure that the next 2-on-2 match is between them and Netto/Meiru! With success, their operation continues to go as planned. Disguised as Higure, Mahajarama gives Meiru a special ""super chip"" to use in the match, but as soon as she slots-it in... Roll is overcome with electrical energy! She soon mutates and turns evil, teaming up with Fireman and Coloredman to go against Rockman! Worst of all, Meiru can't get the chip out of her PET! English version title - Evil Empress Roll!

Épisode 19 - Horror! Devil Chip!

With Roll still under evil control, she helps the World Three give Rockman a major beating! Dekao, Yaito, and Tohru set out to find what's causing this, and they soon learn that the WWW is behind it. They have their navis follow electromagnetic waves in the cyber world, leading to Count Elec, whom is controlling Roll from afar! However, he gets away! Meanwhile, Rockman manages to force Coloredman to plug-out, only leaving Roll and Fireman. Higure eventually stumbles back into consciousness and explains to Meiru that the chip will come out if they insert another chip. Soon, Roll is back to normal and she logs Fireman out... however, Roll's data is too damaged to keep competing in the tournament. After the match, Blues and Shiningman fight against Whaleman and Breakman, but Blues uses one powerful blast to log-out everyone... even his teammate! English version title - Evil Empress Roll!

Épisode 20 - Close Call for Yaito-chan!

The final 2-on-2 match is announced: Rockman/Blues VS. Bombman/Stoneman! Enzan lets Netto know that he doesn't need his help to defeat the two, and then sends some insults in Yaito's direction. Yaito, enraged, rushes off to her favorite underwater restaraunt to gorge herself on strawberry milk. She sees Enzan there, partaking in a business meeting for IPC. The two eventually get trapped on an elevator together, with Enzan needing to hurry to his N1 match... and Yaito needing to use the bathroom! Enzan helps Yaito climb the shaft's ladder and get out, but Enzan doesn't realize that he loses valuable chips along the way. With the help of Yaito's limo, Enzan makes it to the match with seconds to spare. English version title - There's No ""I"" in Team! In the English version, this episode was skipped, and a few scenes of it (mainly just to show Enzan losing his chips) were added on before Netto and Enzan's match in the next episode. The Rockman/Blues VS. Bombman/Stoneman match begins. Rockman takes the offensive, but is easily overcome. Blues then knocks him aside and fights alone, easily deleting Bombman. Rockman attempts to help by taking on Stoneman, but is soon buried under a bunch of debris. Blues takes on Stoneman alone, and easily chops him to pieces... but a strange orb inside Stoneman's structure puts him back together! Everyone wonders why Enzan hasn't taken an easy win with the Beta Sword yet... but Enzan lost the chips needed in the elevator shaft (last episode)! Blues is soon caught between Stoneman's grasp, but Rockman breaks free in time to rescue him! Stoneman is deleted, and the two come out victorious. English version title - There's No ""I"" in Team!

Épisode 22 - The Final Battle's End

The final N1 Grand Prix match is here... Netto VS. Enzan! Enzan's calculations show that there's a very slim chance that he'll lose to Netto. The match soon begins, and both comabatants fight strong! However, there's a mysterious Net Navi lurking in the network of the Mega Float (the artificial island the tournament is held on). The navi soon causes the Mega Float to sink! Everyone escapes from the island... except for Netto and Enzan, who refuse to stop their match! Kero, Higure, and Masa also stay behind. The match goes even stronger until Rockman and Blues are going head-to-head in a Beta Sword fight. After a great and powerful light pierces the night sky, the dust clears and Rockman falls. With Enzan declared the winner, Netto and Rockman both agree that they gave it their best. Blues helps Rockman up, only to get pushed out of the way as a laser pierces Rockman's chest! The Net Navi, Pharaohman, is plotting his reign of terror on the world. Having been locked away for many years, he is now free to rule! He transforms the science labs network into a vast desert, and resides within a cyber pyramid. Meanwhile, Netto is having trouble coming to terms with the loss of Rockman... until, one day, strange gold symbols appear on his (and his friends') PETs. Everyone thinks that it may be Rockman's data! Enzan meets with Netto and explains to him that he promises to repay him for what Rockman did to save Blues. Yuuichirou has devised a plan to revive Rockman, but he'll need the aid of Roll, Gutsman, Glyde, and Iceman. He also gives Roll a special support program named Rush. They all go to infiltrate the science labs network and recover Rockman's physical structure. Meanwhile, the net agents plug-in to the network through Higure's chip shop and send their navis to stop Pharaohman as well. Roll and co., after battling with viruses, eventually reach a cavern in which they find Rockman's body... but Pharaohman soon appears and causes the cave to collapse! Rockman's body is sent falling into a dark abyss, and a boulder crushes (and deletes) Gutsman! As Roll, Iceman, and Glyde escape, they soon discover that things are worse. The Bombman and Stoneman army attempt to capture Pharaohman and force him into working for the World Three, but they're easily deleted. The original Bombman and Stoneman versions escape, while Pharaohman turns Roll, Glyde, and Iceman into stone. Meanwhile, the net agents' Net Navis (Sharkman, Skullman, and Woodman) attempt to hack into the science lab's programming to locate Pharaohman, and do so... just in time to get turned to stone as well. Everyone soon learns that Pharaohman is sending a satellite to earth, with it's crash-landing destination to be Densan City! Hope is scarce... until Blues rescues Rockman's body from a pool of hot magma, and goes to face Pharaohman himself. Blues faces deletion, until... Rockman is revived and appears to help!
