Une avocate impitoyable en quête de justice est à la tête d'un cabinet spécialisé dans les affaires de condamnations injustifiées. Avec son équipe, elle rouvre d'anciens dossiers et mène l'enquête pour disculper les personnes condamnées à tort. Sa motivation lui vient de son triste passé. Quelques années auparavant, la jeune femme a été reconnue coupable avant d'être disculpée un peu plus tard lors d'une affaire très médiatisée dans laquelle la presse a traîné son nom dans la boue. Depuis, elle met un point d'honneur à défendre les autres comme elle se battrait pour prouver sa propre innocence.
