Expériences Interdites est une anthologie d'histoires horrifiques mêlant fantastique et science-fiction. La série est présentée par un robot féminin appelé Chrome (dont la voix est assurée par Maureen Teefy, actrice connue pour ses rôles dans Fame et Grease 2), qui introduit et conclut chaque épisode. La série évoque des thèmes classiques de la science-fiction comme les invasions extraterrestres ou encore le voyage dans le temps. Cette anthologie s'inspire de la série de comics américain Weird Science publiée dans les années 1950 par Bill Gaines. A noter qu'une adaptation cinématographique de l'un des volumes du comic (Made in the Future) a été réalisée en 1985 par Joel Silver, l'un des producteurs de la série. Ce film a lui même été adapté à la télévision dans une série bien connue du public adolescent français des années 1990, Code Lisa.
