Kurisu, who joined Royal Human at the invitation of Kozo (Sato Koichi), is immediately assigned to be the full-time secretary of the horse racing division. However, one of his duties is to deal with Kozo's wife, Kyoko, who dislikes horse racing. One day, Yutaro, citing dissatisfaction among young employees, pressures his father, Kozo, to disband the horse racing division if the company does not win a race in the JRA this year. Kozo accepts this and takes Kurisu to the Miho Training Center to help Royal Fight, who he believes will be the most valuable asset, win. However, Kozo's aggressiveness angers trainer Tadokoro, who rebels against him, leading to a breakup. Kurisu is forced to immediately begin searching for a new trainer at Kozo's request. Meanwhile, Kurisu meets Kanako, who is in Tokyo for a race for one of her horses. He learns of an excellent trainer named Hironaka and visits his stables.

Kurisu acts as an intermediary and arranges a meeting between Koichi and Kozo, but the two soon get into an argument, and Koichi is unable to express what he wants to say. Worried about not being able to hear Koichi's true feelings, Kurisu consults Kanako, who tells him that perhaps Koichi isn't opposed to Kozo, but is worried about him... Kurisu arranges another opportunity for them to meet and makes a proposal, but Koichi refuses. Wanting to do something, Kurisu calls Koichi outside to find out his true feelings. Meanwhile, the Royal Family has had a successful debut, but their performance since then has been lackluster. In an attempt to turn things around, Koichi makes a bold proposal, but is opposed by Hironaka. Kurisu is finding it more difficult than ever as the relationship between Koichi and Team Royal gradually becomes unsettled. Meanwhile, Koichi's rival, Nobuyuki, is aiming to achieve the same goal as his father, Shiina, in the Triple Crown. With one problem after another hitting them, their goal of competing in the Arima Kinen at the end of the year seems hopeless. Nevertheless, Kurisu and Koichi work hard to protect the team and keep their dream alive.
