Épisode 1 - Mid-Week Family Feast
24 septembre 2012
Nigella Lawson shows how easy it is to bring the spirit of Italy into the kitchen and on to the plate - using ingredients available in any English supermarket. With her passion for Italy and Italian cooking - she lived and worked in Florence before starting a degree in modern languages - Nigella's mouth-watering dishes have their roots in tradition but take us into fresh territory, knowledge worn light of touch but full on taste. In this first show, Nigella introduces us to her love of Italian food through a spectacular yet simple Sicilian pasta with tomatoes, garlic and almonds. There's a mid-week family feast of tagliata - a juicy steak cut into thin slices - served with crisp, fluffy Tuscan fries. Plus Nigella's 'eggs in purgatory' - a late night fiery dish inspired by her early party days in Florence.
Épisode 2 - Episode 2
1 octobre 2012
Nigella Lawson's mission to show how easy it is to bring the spirit of Italy into the kitchen continues as she shares the secrets of her celebratory, yet simple Italian roast chicken, served alongside a sunny saffron orzotto. Dessert comes courtesy of Nigella's surprisingly easy coffee ice cream, inspired by lazy days spent in the ice cream parlours of Florence, and an extra treat is presented in the form of a chocolate olive oil cake. There's also a silky pasta dish with courgettes, which elevates a quick fridge foray into a languorous late night treat.
Épisode 3 - A Very Italian Supper
8 octobre 2012
Nigella Lawson prepares pork loin stuffed with oregano and Parma ham, served with mock mash and vignarola. She extols the virtues of spelt spaghetti, which she accompanies with an olive and anchovy sauce that can be made without cooking, and also demonstrates her recipe for sambuca kisses, a doughnut-like sweet.
Épisode 4 - Tastes of Italy
15 octobre 2012
Nigella reveals a secret passion for one of the tastes of Italy with her dark and deviant liquorice pudding, before introducing us to the joys of fregola - the Sardinian sun-dried and toasted couscous - in a light, tomato-hued recipe of couscous with clams. Nigella's dinner party guests are served a simple yet sumptuous meal of butterflied leg of lamb and baby aubergines with oregano and roasted red onion. Dessert is an irresistible meringue gelato cake with sharp raspberries and a dark chocolate sauce.
Épisode 5 - Mouth-Watering Italian
22 octobre 2012
Inspired by a scribbled note she once found in an old Italian kitchen, Nigella starts with her take on the classic light and sunny yoghurt pot cake. Nigella's niece and nephew are recruited to make - and enjoy - a shortcut sausage meatball supper, while a girls' night in sees Nigella rustling up a super quick dish of squid and prawns with marjoram and chilli. The evening ends with Nigella's tiramisini - a lighter, quicker version of traditional tiramisu.
