Épisode 1 - Freedom 7

Come aboard Freedom 7 to witness astronaut Alan Shepard's historical journey into space. Included in this intriguing film are on board activities, voice communications and intimate observations by America's first man in space.

Épisode 2 - The Voyage of Friendship 7

John Glenn's historical flight, the first American to orbit earth. Man's dream of journeying into space becomes a reality. You will see sunrises and sunsets that are breathtaking and the parachute deployment as the spacecraft gently descends to Earth.

Épisode 3 - The Four Days of Gemini 4

Astrounaut Edward H. White is shown strolling in space, the first spacewalk by an American. Several onboard cameras capture outstanding photographic records of thes breathtaking spacewalk. In the following days, the astronauts work, eat, sleep and perform 11 measurements and photographic experiments during the 62 revolutions of Gemini 4.

Épisode 4 - This Is Houston Flight, Gemini VIII

Following the Gemini VIII crew as they complete historic first docking in space with the Agena target vehicle. Camreas record the harrowing experiances of the astronauts as Gemini VIII wildly gyrates through space following major malfunction. The spacecraft is separated from the Agena and is miraculously brought under control, and re-entry is achieved.

The oustanding documentary of Apollo 15 includes such features as the stand-up spacewalk, the three traverses of the lunar surface, film taken from the Lunar Rover, Astronaut Alfred M. Worden's spacewalk and the tension-filled splashdown with one parachute collapsed.

This exciting close-up of the Apollo 16 mission details the landing and the Three Lunar Traverses in the Highland Region of the Moon near the crated Descartes. Included in this docementary is an extraordinary astronaut's eye view from the Rovert, the Lunar Grand Prix, the fascinating discovery of the house-sized rock, lunar lift-off and the spacewalk 173.000 miles above the Earth. Microphones and cameras in Mission Control record the emergency problemsolving during a tension-packed pre-landing crisis and the reactions of scientists on Earth as the astronauts explore the Moon.

Astronauts: Eugene A. Cernan, Ronald E. Evans and Harrison H. Schmitt. Launch date: December 6, 1972. You have just come aboard the Apollo 17 journey to Taurus - Littrow, the final lunar landing mission in the Apollo space program. You will witness the highlights of the mission and how it will relate to Skylab, the Apollo/Soyuz link-up and the Space Shuttle. You will relive this flight with the astronauts.

Épisode 10 - The Mission of Apollo-Soyuz

The precedent setting mission between the United States and the Soviet Union. The film treats scientific and technological achivements and stresses the spirit of cooperation and friendship. It concludes with a projection on the future of international cooperation in space over scenes of the Space Shuttle and the European developed Spacelab.

Épisode 11 - Skylab: The First 40 Days

This film records the launch of unmanned Skylab 1 on May 14, 1973, and the missionthreatening problem resulting from the loss of the meteroid heat shield. The fabrication of materials and the equipment used in the repair operation is grapihically documented, followed by the installation of the parasol after the lauch and docking of the manned SL-2 with the SL-1 workshop. Also included are onboard sequenses of the daily work routines and some of the experiments.

Épisode 12 - Four Rooms: Earth View

Skylab was the first United States manned space station, man's boldest step toward future colonization of space. This is the very story of the threee missions, the nine astronauts and thier 171 days in the manned laboratory. Criss-crossing 70 percent of the Earth's land area. Skylab's sensors gathered information about many features on Earth. Perhaps one day mankind will be ordering a new home in space with four rooms, Earth's view.

Épisode 13 - Opening New Frontiers

This film covers the first four test missions of the Space Shuttle Columbia, STS flights 1,2,3 and 4. Also you will witness the events leading up to the first launch, President's Reagan's speech after the fourth landing and highlights of the orbital flight test program in general.

Épisode 14 - We Deliver

This docementary film covers the first four operational missions of the space transportation system, STS flights 5,6,7 and 8. The operational common denominator of the mission's satellite deployment is stressed. Also included are significant secondary achivements such as EVA's, the first female astronaut, the first night launch and landing and some of the more important onboard achivements.

Épisode 15 - Launch and Retrieval of Satellites

This film of the November 1984 launch of the space shuttle Discovery graphically illustrates the dispersment of two important satellites, the Telestat-H and the Syncom IV-1. Watch as both satellites are flawlessly lauched into orbit. Thrill to the daring rescue of two inoperative satellites. See extraordinary footage of the precise timing involved in these rescues. Also shown are detailed views of both the flight deck and mid-deck of the Discovery.

Épisode 16 - Satellite Repairs

The August 1985 lunch of the space shuttle Discovery was planned and executed in only four months. The primary objectives of this mission were the retrival of an inoperative Syncom satellite, the repair of the satellite, and its subsequent return to its proper orbit. Watch in amazement as each step in the laborious process is graphically photographed and explaind in vivid detail. Also documented is the successful deployment of numerous satellites, including the ASC-1 and Aussat-1. Another highlight of this film is the spectacular footage of weather disturbances on Earth.

Épisode 17 - Challenger - Disaster and Investigation

This was the flight that exposed the real dangers of space exploration. Millions of people watched in disbelife as the space shuttle Challanger (flight 51-L) exploded. This film was prepared by the 51-L Data and Design Analysis Task Force and documents the Task Force's activities and findings. It provides a concise, technical explanation of the cause of the Challanger accident.

This video from the Glenn Research Center highlights in stunning, behind-the-scenes imagery the launches of three space shuttle missions: STS-114, STS-117, and STS-124. NASA engineers provide commentary as footage from the ground and from the orbiters themselves document in detail the first phase of a mission.
