Bok Hee is a mother of two children and sells vegetables for a living. Despite a hard life she has she never loses her smile. Sang Ah is the daughter of Chairman Ko of Shinsang Group. She gets frustrated after her man was fired and someone comes into her house. On the night of the ancestral rite for Bok Hee’s dad, her son, Eun Su almost gets hit by a car.

Sang Ah leaves after giving Bok Hee some money. Bok Hee comes home furious, and her husband, Cha Ban comes back home. He suddenly asks for a divorce and even takes the money from Sang Ah. The next day, Bok Hee tries to take a nap near the cemetery. It’s there that she witnesses a lady getting kidnapped.

Bok Hee leaves the hospital after having the old lady admitted there for her part-time job. However, Si Kyung and Eun Ha believe that Bok Hee tried to kidnap Eun Ha’s mother, and take her to the police. Cha Ban keeps nagging at Bok Hee to agree to get divorced.

Cha Ban’s mistress Ji Ae coaxes him into taking everything away from Bok Hee. So Cha Ban even puts the house out for lease. Hyun Hee visits the VIP ward at the hospital only to cause trouble after she learns that the patient is the wife of Shinsang Group’s chairman. Bok Hee goes to ask her father-in-law to persuade Cha Ban.

Bok Hee finds out that Cha Ban has sold not only the house but the truck and gets frustrated. She visits her stepmother to ask for a room in her house for herself and the kids to stay in for a while, but her stepmother flatly rejects it. When she runs into the buyer of the truck, she decides to run away with the truck.

Mrs. Jo goes to Busan to find Bok Hee. Si Kyung feels bad and frustrated watching Bok Hee’s pathetic life. Mrs. Jo invites Bok Hee to her house and pays her 50,000 dollars as a token of her gratitude for saving her life. And in Mrs. Jo’s house, Bok Hee remembers what happened in the old days.

Bok Hee feels so grateful as Mrs. Jo gives her some check as repaying for Bok Hee’s kindness. So Bok Hee hides the check in her dress pocket, but Cha Ban takes the dress away to give it to Ji Ae. The two discover it and try to change them into cash, but luckily Bok Hee made in time and report them stolen.

Bok Hee’s husband takes her truck and asks her to sign the divorce paper by threatening her over the custody of their children. Bok Hee gets a job as a temporary chauffeur and assistant housekeeper at Mrs. Jo’s house as they need a substitute. Bok Hee goes to the market to buy vegetables for Se Ra’s birthday and Mrs. Jo joins her.

Chairman Ko tells Sang Ah to discuss every matter about the company with Si Kyung, and Sang Ah gets infuriated. Eun Su gets his leg burned, so Bok Hee secretly has her kids come into Chairman Ko’s house. Si Kyung helps Bok Hee prepare Se Ra’s birthday party.

Bok Hee and the children get to live together in the basement of Choong’s house. Sang Ah plots something in secret to exercise her influence on the company. Meanwhile, Se Ra, Eun Su, and Eun Ha grow a friendship as they play together. And Sang Ah finally explodes.

Sang Ah gets kidnapped by the same men who kidnapped Mrs. Jo. Luckily, Bok Hee and Si Kyung spot the scene and follow them and manage to save Sang Ah safely. But as Bok Hee comes back home, she sees Mrs. Jo on the floor.

Mrs. Jo tells Bok Hee about her son, Sang Soo, of how he passed away in a car accident. She asks Bok Hee to move Sang Ah’s room to hers as she doesn’t feel at ease without her. Manager Jang finds out that Bok Hee is the girl who used to deliver milk to the chairman’s house. Director Ko finds out her blood type is AB, which does not match either of her parents, which are O.

Sang Ah tries to find the biological daughter of her current parents. Bok Hee’s stepmother visits Choong’s house unannounced and gets in trouble with Sang Ah. Choong is suddenly nice to Eun Lim. Cha Ban goes to the police station to report Ji Ae missing.

Cha Ban finds out that Bok Hee is working for a conglomerate family, and he follows her to the house. He demands Bok Hee to either pay for his dad’s hospital bills or looks after him. As Bok Hee and Cha Ban quarrel, Si Kyung sees them and misunderstands the situation.

Si Kyung is resolute that there won’t be a settlement with Cha Ban, and Bok Hee runs everywhere to make money in order to persuade Cha Ban. Ji Ae uses up all the money she took from Cha Ban for gambling. Sang Ah leaks harmful news about Shinsang and works on the next plot.

Sang Ah is frustrated as she figures that her father already knows everything. Cha Ban finds out that Bok Hee saved Sang Ah’s life too and goes to visit Sang Ah to squeeze out of her. Meanwhile, Se Ra has fun hanging out with Bok Hee’s children. At the same moment, Sang Ah and Si Kyung come home.

Cha Ban gets a job as a chauffeur in the chairman’s house, and Bok Hee and Si Kyung decide to keep it a secret for the time being. Chairman Ko orders Director Ko and Manager Jang to reach the CEO of Jangin separately. Bok Hee accompanies Jang to Jangin and succeeds in meeting the CEO.

Bok Hee happens to help Jangin Manufacturer deal with an urgent problem, and Jang In signs the deal with Shinsang. Ko Choong who hears about Bok Hee’s contribution and tells Bok Hee to ask him anything she wants. Cha Ban takes away the chocolate pies which are for his twins’ birthday party.

Sang Ah gets furious when she hears Bok Hee’s children are going to the same school as Se Ra. She warns both Bok Hee and her children as well as Se Ra. Eun Ha and Eun Su are excited to go to a new school. The contract with Jangin concludes in success. Bok Hee’s mother and sister barge into the house and try to take the clothes Bok Hee got from Mrs. Jo.

Bok Hee looks for more part time jobs to save some money so she can pay for her kids’ field trip. Choong appoints Si Kyung and Sang Ah as a chief director and a chief manager respectively for the new business in front of all the executives of Shinsang, and Sang ah is enraged at Choong’s decision.

The chairman asks Bok Hee what she would do if her kids weren’t her own. Si Kyung suggests the chairman be generous and be warm to Sang Ah as her father. Bok Hee finds out she has won for the slogan contest of Shinsang Group and Si Kyung notices that the winner is Bok Hee. As Bok Hee comes to the office for the ceremony, a fax is sent to the office.

Sang Ah trembles from the possible truth she discovered. She fears Bok Hee would take her place in the family. Sang Ah suggests Si Kyung to have a drink with her. Bok Hee comes home and goes out with Mrs. Jo to have dinner. Then, they run into Cha Ban and Ji Ae.

After Si Kyung comes home, he has a nightmare about Sang Soo. Bok Hee worries about him and Si Kyung is just happy that she cares about him. Chairman Ko figures out that Sang Ah has moved his man to report what he does to her. Sang Ah decides to trouble Bok Hee to get rid of her.
