Gaspard Savoureux est le plus grand gastronome du pays. Celui qui se fait appeler Son Excellence est aussi le fondateur d'une association regroupant les meilleurs chefs des plus grands restaurants. Alors qu'il est en tournée d'inspection, l'intransigeant M. Savoureux s'arrête devant un petit restaurant familial où il rencontre un jeune homme du nom de Thomas. Surprise, ce garçon est celui que son chauffeur a manqué écraser quelques minutes auparavant ! Ce petit gars, fan de skateboard, est surnommé Petit Chef depuis qu'il a pris en main la cuisine du restaurant suite à la disparition de son père. De façon un peu présomptueuse, Thomas promet au vieux gastronome de lui faire gouter les meilleurs croquettes de viande qu'il n'a jamais mangé ! Gaspard Savoureux, conquis par ce petit bout d'homme, va inviter Thomas à le rejoindre afin qu'il se mesure aux meilleurs chefs mondiaux et réalise le rêve de son père : devenir un grand chef.

Yoichi and his son, along with Koyama and his friends, have finally arrived in Hong Kong. They meet up with Mitsuko and Shigeru and visit Li Xiaogui's restaurant, Kogairo, where a young chef working there, Liu Hufeng, challenges Yoichi. Hufeng boasts that Japanese cuisine cannot compete with Chinese cuisine, which has a 4,000-year history, and the two engage in a steamed dumpling battle!

Realizing something important, Yoichi makes katsudon for Ajiou again.
