Censé être sous haute surveillance, le pénitencier de Diamandra voit une de ses prisonnières, Michiko Malandro, tenter de s’évader. Profitant de la tempête qui fait rage à l’extérieur, cette dernière réussit l’impossible en échappant à ses poursuivants. Dans une ville voisine vit Hana, une orpheline adoptée par un prêtre et sa famille. Ces derniers l’ont cependant accueilli chez eux uniquement pour obtenir de l’argent de la part de l’orphelinat. Ne recevant aucune forme d’amour, Hana se voit ainsi contrainte de s’occuper de toutes les tâches de la maison. En plus de ce dur labeur pour son jeune âge, cette dernière se fait constamment martyriser par les deux enfants du prêtre. Les jours passent et Hana n’attend qu’une chose : qu’un miracle se produise et qu’une personne l’emmène ailleurs. Ce dernier ne tardera pas à arriver puisque Michiko enlève Hana sous les yeux de sa famille adoptive en prétendant être sa mère. Commence alors une échappée dynamique dans une ambiance des plus funky.
