Épisode 1 - Un maldito alacrán por siempre

Renato saves Paloma's life when she is about to be trampled by an out-of-control horse. This first encounter instantly draws them together, without them knowing the past each carries. Paloma is enchanted by Renato after an unexpected kiss; however, the attraction she begins to feel leads her to an impossible love, since she is married. Porfirio, Paloma's husband, confesses that the cancer he has been battling has worsened. Faced with this situation, he asks his daughter, Bárbara, to return to the farm to take over when the time comes for him to leave. Gustavo, Renato's adoptive father, asks him to manage Porfirio's farm without revealing the dark plans he hides. However, soon after, Renato discovers that Porfirio's wife is none other than Paloma, the young woman he fell madly in love with at the cattle show.

Épisode 2 - Provocaciones

Gustavo puts a new plan into action to ruin Porfirio's farm and take possession of it when he finally goes bankrupt. Renato talks to Luis Ernesto to make sure he knows that Paloma is married and the wife of Porfirio, his father's partner, shocking Ernesto when he discovers this information. Porfirio invites Renato to a welcome dinner for his daughter Bárbara, but Paloma realizes that Renato will be dining with them, which makes her very nervous, fearing that her feelings for him will become evident. Renato seeks out Paloma to talk about what happened at the fair, taking advantage of the fact that she is alone in the greenhouse.

Épisode 3 - Amor forzado

Paloma expresses all her feelings for Renato when she is with him. However, Renato makes it clear that he doesn't want to create conflict with her or her family after the kiss they shared at the fair. Porfirio asks Bárbara to learn everything about the sugarcane fields under Renato's tutelage. However, she refuses to receive instructions from him, as she perceives him as hostile and with a superior attitude towards her. Despite having been honest with each other and having decided to respect Paloma's commitment to Porfirio, she still harbors feelings for that encounter with Renato. Thanks to the plans Gustavo began plotting on Porfirio's farm, Renato and Bárbara find themselves involved in a dangerous situation: the sugarcane fields have been sabotaged with traps designed to injure the workers and thus affect Porfirio's production.

Épisode 4 - Topar con pared

Barbara gathers everyone at the ranch to inform them that they were attacked and that Renato is injured. Unable to hide her deep concern for him, Paloma makes it clear how apprehensive she is. Chelo does everything to prevent Paloma from caring for Renato, but Barbara intervenes and decides to bring her what she needs to treat him. Unaware of what she will discover, she examines him closely and is shocked to see the scars marking his body. Renato is determined to uncover the truth, as he doesn't believe the attack was a coincidence and begins to suspect that Porfirio may have an enemy willing to do anything. Paloma and Barbara arrive at Dalila's bar. Dalila immediately recognizes the necklace Renato was wearing days before and that Paloma is wearing now.

Épisode 5 - Corazonada

Dalila confronts Paloma and makes it clear that Renato belongs to her. Without mincing words, she demands that Paloma leave, as she will not tolerate another rival in her path. Porfirio announces to the family that Renato will be moving to the farm. Bárbara can't hide her excitement at seeing him as her protector, but Porfirio notices her enthusiasm and hints to Paloma that the closeness between them is becoming increasingly evident. After the accident, Bárbara begins to see Renato in a new light. Grateful and seductive, she runs to thank him, unaware that her mother, Paloma, is watching them from a distance. Paloma confesses to Renato that she has already met Dalila and expresses her concern. The tension between them increases until Porfirio catches them in the middle of an argument.

Épisode 6 - Ella no va a lograr separarnos

After an attempted murder against Bárbara, ordered by Gustavo, Brayan destroys the tool shed until it collapses. However, Renato intervenes in time and manages to save her. Realizing that Bárbara is getting closer to Renato, Paloma decides to get rid of her. To do this, she calls Bárbara’s boyfriend and invites him to the farm. Renato, unable to forget the kiss he shared with Bárbara, tries to push the memory away and decides to spend the night with Dalila. Paloma begins to realize that the relationship between Renato and Bárbara is becoming increasingly solid, to the point of awakening in her an unexpected feeling: jealousy of the attention that Renato gives to Bárbara.

Épisode 7 - Renace la esperanza

Porfirio makes his will, leaving everything in the hands of his daughter Bárbara, knowing that she will be the only one capable of managing it all because of her love for the valley. Paloma becomes distressed when she discovers that Porfirio called her friend Rosa to find out what is happening. Finally, she confesses to Rosa that she feels jealous of her daughter Bárbara, as she realizes that Bárbara is now the one receiving Renato’s attention. Paloma is sure that she could have something with Renato if she were not married. This idea remains in her mind as a real possibility of happiness… although that would only happen when her husband’s illness came to an end and he was no longer there. Bárbara confronts Renato to confess that she has begun to develop feelings for him. Driven by these feelings, she wants to know more about his life and thus build a deeper connection between them.

Épisode 8 - Tu pasado está escrito

Dalila makes it clear to Paloma that she will fight for what she considers hers—Renato’s love—and firmly, even aggressively, demands that she stay away from him. Renato was deeply impressed by Bárbara’s determination and strength when she decided to work in the fields, side by side with the rural workers. Bárbara tells Renato that she will no longer work in the fields, as she will be going to the office. Before leaving, she decides to steal a farewell kiss, but the moment gets out of control and they end up spending the night together. Faced with this new situation, in which her daughter Bárbara is no longer an obstacle to getting closer to Renato, Paloma decides to start working alongside him in the fields, convinced that this is how she will win him over.

Épisode 9 - La verdad a la luz

Taking advantage of Bárbara’s absence while she works with Gustavo, Paloma decides to impersonate her and work with the day laborers, which displeases Renato. Renato tries to get rid of Paloma in the sugarcane fields, but she persists in her feelings for him, unaware that Porfirio is watching them. Porfirio decides to expose Paloma once and for all; she can’t take it anymore and confesses everything Renato makes her feel. Rodrigo unexpectedly arrives at the Cruz farm; Renato meets him, and Rodrigo introduces himself as Bárbara’s boyfriend.

After Paloma's heartfelt confession to Porfirio, he decides not to fight for the marriage, as he doesn't have the strength to do so. However, Porfirio doesn't remain passive and confronts Renato, wanting to know his true feelings for Paloma. Renato confesses his feelings, clarifying that he only sees her as the housekeeper. Meanwhile, Porfirio starts piecing together the puzzle and discovers that Paloma was jealous of her own daughter. Bárbara, confused by the events involving Renato and Dalila, decides to confess her feelings for Renato to her mother, Paloma.

Épisode 11 - Odio de madre

Bárbara confesses to her mother that she spent the night with Renato. The news triggers a fit of jealousy in her mother, who, unable to control herself, slaps her daughter. Unable to admit the real reason for her reaction, she justifies herself by accusing Bárbara of behaving like “a slut” for doing something like that while her boyfriend is at the farm. Maria confronts Renato and expresses her disapproval, scolding him for not toying with the feelings of two women when he is already in a relationship with Dalila. Renato confronts Gustavo to find out his true motives regarding Porfirio’s farm and whether his apparent good intentions are just a disguise to take everything from them. Brayan, while celebrating with friends at Dalila’s cantina, brags about how easy it was to demolish the tool shed. His words raise Renato’s suspicion that he might be involved in the attack on Bárbara, which ends up provoking a fight between the two.

Épisode 12 - Solo se necesita amor

Paloma finally confesses to her daughter, Bárbara, that she is going through a difficult time with Porfirio, admitting that she no longer loves him and sees him only as a friend. Paloma decides to confront Renato to find out what he really feels for her and for Bárbara, as she believes that the attraction they felt when they met at the cattle fair still persists. Bárbara is manipulated by Georgina and Gustavo into harming herself in the eyes of the company after authorizing a purchase that ends up causing losses. From then on, they devise a plan to wear her down and force her to leave the city. Rodrigo suffers a serious accident after falling off a horse during the race he organized with Renato, in which both were trying to prove who was more worthy of Bárbara’s love.

Épisode 13 - Un alma rota

Dalila warns Paloma that both she and Bárbara should stay away from Renato, as they might end up getting hurt. She explains that Renato usually doesn’t take any woman seriously. Renato gives Porfirio devastating news: the tractors have become unusable because someone damaged the engines. Now, Porfirio faces a new financial problem. Porfirio approaches Gustavo to tell him about the financial difficulties he is facing. Without hesitation, Gustavo decides to lend him the money needed to save his farm, without imagining the consequences that could arise from this loan. Paloma, in an attempt to express the love she feels for Renato, steals a kiss from him to show that she is the right person. However, Bárbara catches them, becoming completely shocked.

Épisode 14 - Vendiéndole el alma al diablo

Renato tries to open Porfirio’s eyes about Gustavo, as he fears he wants to take over the farm. Paloma confesses to Rosa that Bárbara saw her with Renato together and that she is willing to fight for him. Porfirio shows up at Renato’s house intending to throw him out, but before continuing his speech, Porfirio faints. Bárbara reveals to everyone that her mother is being unfaithful to her father, but he overhears them and reveals that he already knew everything; however, Paloma lets out some truths.

Épisode 15 - Revolución y guerra

The doctor reveals to Bárbara and Paloma that Porfirio’s health condition is at its most critical point and that he will probably not make it. Gustavo arrives at the hospital intending to find out whether Porfirio will survive, since his death would be convenient for him. Porfirio gathers Paloma and his daughter, as he already knows his life is about to end and wants to depart in peace. Renato tries to comfort Bárbara by saying a few words, but she silences him in a categorical manner.

Épisode 16 - La felicidad y la tristeza

María reveals to Luis Ernesto that his mother was very rude to her and even offered her money to stay away from him, considering her beneath her son. Bárbara explodes with fury at Gustavo, who, in the middle of Porfirio’s funeral, proposes buying the farm, making her feel that everything had been part of a plan from the beginning. Gustavo asks Brayan to continue sabotaging the sugarcane fields; with this, he plans that they won’t be able to repay the loan he granted them and thus take the farm as payment. Bárbara asks Renato to leave her farm after his betrayal. She makes it clear that he is not indispensable and can be easily replaced.

Épisode 17 - Dividir y vencer

Brayan begins by sabotaging the sugarcane farm and now plans to infest all the fields with a plague. Renato confesses to Dalila the reasons why he is in love with Bárbara, leaving her heart shattered by his revelation. Renato discovers that the fields are infested by a plague, becoming alarmed by its sudden appearance. Paloma discovers that, in Porfirio’s new will, she is no longer included as an heir to the farm or the fields, being left only with the life insurance.

Épisode 18 - Tregua y dudas

Upon seeing that the fields had been affected by a huge plague, Bárbara decides to set aside her hatred for Renato and asks to make peace so they can work together, with the goal of saving the farm. Thanks to Renato’s knowledge, Bárbara realizes that her farm has been attacked again. This time, through the plague they left behind, which he explains is their method to prevent any harvest. Renato begins his investigation to find out who may have infested the sugarcane fields with worms. His main suspect now is Brayan, Gustavo’s right-hand man. Rodrigo decides to act on his own when he realizes that Bárbara refuses to accept that Renato is to blame. Therefore, he seeks out Gustavo to ask for his help in getting Renato fired from his position, with the intention of hiring a new manager for the farm.

Épisode 19 - Contra el diablo

Rodrigo, in his attempt to help Bárbara, asks Gustavo for help, who sends Brayan to impersonate Renato. Renato confronts Gustavo, as he believes it was him who sabotaged the sugarcane fields. After the fight with Renato, Gustavo begins to doubt his loyalty and starts to remember his past. Bárbara admits that firing Renato would be a mistake, so she asks for his help to save the farm, and he takes the opportunity to confess his love to her.

Épisode 20 - Enemigo del pasado

Rodrigo informs Bárbara that her father signed a very dubious contract with Gustavo, and that this puts the Cruz farm in danger. Bárbara decides to listen to Gustavo’s proposal; however, she decides to expose him in front of her family, and Renato defends her. Gustavo, after being humiliated by Renato, decides to investigate his past in order to harm him. Paloma does not give up and decides to look for Renato so that he falls into temptation.
