Anne and Erik are basically an average couple in the second decade of their marriage who find themselves in couple therapy after many problems. The common son in puberty, the erotic crackling only a vague memory and everyday life dominated by organizational issues. The situation escalates on Anne's birthday. This is partly due to Erik's boring gift and partly due to the parents involved, who are not very compatible. In the end, Anne and Erik find themselves in couple therapy with Dr. Brighter again and find that their marriage is on the brink. Just now, Anne's father Ludwig Demenz is diagnosed. An unfavorable moment, after all, both Anne and Erik work in Ludwig's company. Will a marriage crisis and the same job go together?

Günter has Oberwasser through share gains and supports Leon generously with his efforts to enter his friend Damir's shisha bar. What makes Anne and Erik pull together in their indignation about Günter.

It looks bleak for the Reichert company. Without their biggest customer, selling to the Finnish competition seems like the last resort. Anne and Erik want to include the company patriarch Ludwig in their considerations about company rescue, but he is too busy with alternative therapy methods for his dementia. While caressing crystals for Maria's sake, he decides to withdraw from the company. Which may not be the worst idea given his “negotiating skills” with the Finns. So while his parents are again fully involved with the company, Leon turns to his grandparents Renate and Günter, who not only support him with advice and action, but also in the assessment that he does not have real life and the associated skills in school, but learns in his job in the shisha bar. Thanks to the excessiveness of his parents, who were thrown out of their apartment after the broken diamond deal and suddenly stood at his front door - and have not disappeared since. Anne's time-out comes in handy, honestly, so he can fully plunge into his work. And finally she'll be at the door again in a few days. At least, that's his idea. Anne struggles not only with the consequences of Ludwig's attachment, but also with his stubbornness. Much to the annoyance of her parents who accuse her of wanting to incapacitate him. So she doesn't really get to think about her situation with Erik. Lisa first has to push Anne's nose to ask whether the time-out is really only temporary. In the meantime, Leon bursts his collar in the Shisha bar. Violence is also a solution, he thinks, but the police don't agree with him, just like his shocked parents. But who are at least forced to talk to each other.

Erik reminisces about happier times. Ludwig suffers from the withdrawal of Mrs. Anatol, both Anne and Maria don't want to drive him to her anymore. He sees a great future for her and him! He makes a momentous decision that shakes up the whole family. In the middle of this storm, Leon also drops a bomb, his decision digs deeper trenches between Anne and Erik. Insurmountable?
Épisode 1 - Soraya

Anne hat der Firma Reichert den Rücken gekehrt und versucht einen Neuanfang. Das bedeutet eben auch, eine eigene Wohnung zu finden und dafür das Familienhaus hinter sich zu lassen. Das ist durchaus mit Momenten der Nostalgie verbunden. Auch Erik hält es für das Beste, das Haus zu verkaufen. Schließlich liegen vor beiden Merzens neue Wege. Doch die Rechnung geht nicht auf. Denn sie haben nicht mit Ludwig gerechnet. Dessen Demenz ist zwar mittlerweile weit fortgeschritten, doch er kann sich sehr genau daran erinnern, dass das Haus ihm gehört. Und er es geben darf, wem er will. Als ausgerechnet Leon große Pläne für das einstige gemeinsame Heim offenbart, müssen Anne und Erik mit nicht ganz so fairen Mitteln um die Gunst ihres Sohnes werben.
Épisode 2 - Glückskekse

Leon ist und bleibt der neue Hausbesitzer. Doch er wohnt dort keinesfalls allein, was seine Eltern mit Argwohn betrachten. Denn mit Soraya ist nicht nur Leons neue Freundin eingezogen, sondern auch ihr Baby Amon. Anne und Erik sind fassungslos, denn Leon ist doch selbst noch ein Kind und sicherlich nicht in der Lage, so viel Verantwortung zu übernehmen. Und wieso kümmert sich Amons Vater eigentlich nicht selbst um das Kind? Erik versucht, darauf beherzt eine Antwort zu finden – aber natürlich nach seinen Spielregeln. Währenddessen ist Anne für Leon da, als dieser versucht, Schule und die neue Vaterrolle unter einen Hut zu bekommen. Allerdings lässt Anne dabei natürlich keine Gelegenheit aus, ihrem Vater zu berichten, wie überfordernd diese neue Rolle für Leon sei. Da kann er doch unmöglich schon in ein Haus ziehen und trautes Familienglück spielen – oder etwa doch?
Épisode 3 - Erinnern und Vergessen

Abkommen, die Ludwig einst in der Firma Reichert getroffen hat, lassen Anne und Erik kurzzeitig den Streit ums Haus vergessen. Sie müssen nun wohl oder übel zusammenarbeiten. Was allerdings ein wenig schwierig ist, so ganz ohne Vertrauen. Aber möglicherweise steht die Existenz der gesamten Firma Reichert auf dem Spiel, wenn sie nicht alsbald eine Lösung finden. Da ist für Marias Ängste so gar keine Zeit. Auch Leon hat für seine Oma Maria keinerlei Zeit, denn er muss mindestens genauso dringend mit seinem Großvater sprechen wie seine Eltern. Schließlich reicht das Geld trotz Mietfreiheit hinten und vorne nicht, aber Leon möchte seiner Freundin und Baby Amon ein schönes Leben bieten.
Épisode 4 - Ein paar Paare

Anne und Erik sind wieder bereit fürs Dating. Zumindest sagen das ihre Eltern und Freunde. Anne begleitet Lisa nun regelmäßig zum Kneipenchor. Sie erklärt sich sogar bereit, mit dem recht jungen Tom zu sprechen, nachdem Lisa ihn kurzerhand und ganz subtil neben Anne an die Theke platziert hat. Gesprächsthemen gibt es, gemeinsame Interessen sind allerdings eher ausbaufähig. Gleichzeitig versucht Erik, die alten Freundschaften wieder aufleben zu lassen. Seltsam nur, dass da oftmals die Telefonverbindung abbricht. Aber schlussendlich klappt es dann doch noch mit dem Männerabend, und Erik fühlt sich wieder wie 19. Am Tag darauf hätten Anne und Erik eigentlich einiges zu besprechen – doch dafür bleibt keine Zeit, denn Ludwig ist verschwunden.
Épisode 5 - Weiter, immer weiter

Ausgerechnet Renate und Günter sind plötzlich die engsten Bezugspersonen für Ludwig und Maria. Und so findet Ludwig bei seinem spontanen Auszug seinen Weg in die Gartenlaube der beiden. Als Anne und Erik dazukommen, entwickelt sich ganz schnell eine explosive Eigendynamik – in die letztlich alle Anwesenden verwickelt werden. Doch Anne muss feststellen, dass sie wohl doch noch auf Erik bauen kann. Deshalb bittet sie ihn auch um Hilfe bei ihrer neuen Arbeitsstelle. Tatsächlich willigt Erik ein und hat sogar eine echte Lösung im Gepäck. Allerdings nicht nur die.
Épisode 6 - Dein Haus, mein Haus

Erik ist nun tatsächlich Annes neuer Kollege, was die Beziehung der beiden direkt zurück auf null katapultiert. Oder vielmehr in einen wütenden Minusbereich. Schließlich hatte Erik das eingefädelt, ohne Anne ein Wort zu sagen. Und noch ein Mensch begegnet Anne nun immer öfter: ihre Mutter Maria. Die möchte nämlich noch am Leben teilhaben und steht unvermittelt in der Kneipe, um bei den Chorproben mitzumachen. Indes muss auch Erik sein Leben, oder zumindest seinen Wohnraum, mit einem weiteren Menschen teilen. Denn Sorayas Mutter zieht ebenfalls ein und sorgt dafür, dass sich nichts mehr anfühlt wie zuvor.
Épisode 7 - Nett ist auch keine Lösung

Anne und Erik müssen ihre Taktik ändern, wenn sie das Haus noch irgendwie für sich gewinnen wollen. Die neue Devise lautet also Freundlichkeit. Schließlich ist Sorayas Mutter genau das: wahnsinnig freundlich. Und das kommt wahnsinnig gut an. Bei Leon, bei Günter und vor allem bei Ludwig. Doch je offensichtlicher sich Anne und Erik vertragen, umso angespannter wird die Beziehung zu Leon. Denn der baut sich nach und nach sein Leben auf – mit Soraya. Im einstigen Familienheim. Anne könnte gut eine Pause von alledem vertragen, doch ihre Mutter Maria beansprucht den Kneipenchor nun ebenso für sich. Aber als Anne ihrer Mutter mal so richtig zuhört, weicht die Genervtheit einem ganz anderen, überraschenden Gefühl.

Nach ihrer Scheidung kämpfen Anne und Erik leidenschaftlich um die Poleposition im Rennen um das glücklichere Leben. Anne legt gut vor, sie hat sich einen jüngeren Lover geangelt. Erik ist also im Zugzwang, zumal eine Doppelhochzeit in der Familie ansteht, auf der alle zum Showdown zusammenkommen. Auf der Hochzeitsfeier – zwischen Kartoffelsalat, Ludwigs musikalischer Einlage, einem Notarzteinsatz und einer ungeplanten Annäherung zwischen Anne und Erik – kommt es schließlich zum Showdown.
