Luna, the new resident at the Emergency Department, is doing her best to prove herself. It doesn't help that her mother Rose is on her skin. Chief physician Milo skillfully keeps his affair with nurse Ingrid hidden. The highly flammable nurse Kees has to deal with difficult patients. Rose, an oncologist and board member, fights against budget cuts and impresses the new psychiatrist Casper in doing so.

Football riots cause chaos in the ER, while Milo is not feeling well at all. He treats an injured supporter who was going to donate his kidney to his wife, but the question is whether the transplant can still go ahead. Homeless diabetic Nico gives Kees the idea of ​​dating, but has to deal with a major loss himself. Kyra lashes out at a drunk, aggressive supporter. Luna misses a signal, with major consequences for the patient.

After her mistake, Luna struggles with fear of failure. She has to treat a wayward woman with a high BMI on her own, because Milo is rebellious and is mainly concerned with the results of his scan. Kyra enlists Casper's help with a patient who claims to have been poisoned. While Kees has a match with a nice woman, Rose feels lonely and tries to get closer to Casper. Olivia gets into trouble with Pierre.

Casper has to go to a conference in Berlin and tries to get Rose to come along. Rose has doubts and meanwhile gets Pierre on her roof, who wants her to fire Olivia. Luna, together with Casper, treats a confused man suspected of domestic violence. She discovers something she would rather not have known. Kees moves his rebellious mother to a nursing home and feels guilty, especially when it turns out that she has run away. Finally, Milo can no longer hide his illness.

After his mother's accident, Kees throws himself into his work and into colleague Willeke from the children's department. Casper is disappointed in Rose and pleads with the new charming director Marleen for more psychiatric care in the ER.

Milo finds himself in a precarious situation and can no longer hide his illness from Luna. Casper makes Olivia think about her place in the Emergency Department. After a confrontation between Casper and Rose, Rose makes a decision about her marriage.

A power outage turns everything upside down and draws the attention of a diligent journalist. After unsuccessful resuscitation, Kees' emotions about his mother's death flare up and Milo tries to rekindle his friendship with Ingrid. Casper gives Olivia the chance to move up and Rose forces Marleen to be honest about what she is doing in the MCW. Luna treats a child with a strange bite wound and realizes that Kyra no longer wants to be in the operating room, but why?

Rose believes that the staff should know what is going on, but Marleen thinks differently. Luna and Kyra treat accident victims and Luna learns more about Kyra. Ingrid meets an old acquaintance on the treatment table and is the only one who sees that there is more going on. When Milo dismisses an incident as unimportant, she can no longer keep her mouth shut. Kees throws himself (a little too) enthusiastically at Willeke and Rose and Casper find each other again.

Milo wordt door Rose op het matje geroepen en moet het roer omgooien. Kyra neemt het op tegen Luna in een rollenspel van Casper en wordt geraakt door een zwangere patiënt met wie meer aan de hand is. Olivia doet haar best maar de combinatie van studie met werk en gezin valt haar zwaar. Ingrid krijgt journalist Judith op haar dak en ontdekt wat er speelt bij het MCW. Rose is eerlijk tegen Simon en Kees is geschokt als hij via via hoort wat er met Milo aan de hand is.
