Macross 7

Épisode 1 - Speaker Pod

Basara and his band "Fire Bomber" are a struggling up and coming group on the Macross 7, an intergalactic colony ship traveling through space looking for a new planet to call home. During one of their concerts, the colony is attacked by a mysterious enemy with an even more mysterious weapon that leaves its victoms in a catatonic state. Basara, yearning to have his music heard, flies into the battle zone in his Valkerie to spread the message of music.

Épisode 2 - Spiritia Level

As the crew and colonists of Macross 7 fleet deal with the threat of their mysterious new enemy, something return to business as usual. Aside from the constant threat of attack, now Mylene must deal with her mother Millia, who is also the Mayor of the city, and her plans for an arranged marriage for Mylene.

Épisode 3 - Fire Scramble

Mylene and Ray convince Basara that they should ent er the Super Nova Live show for new bands. Tentions rise between Max and Millia when they, as the two leaders of the fleet, get into an argument about the new threat while being interviewed. Macross 7 is attacked yet again, and much to the dismay of the defence forces, Basara flies into the fray to spread his music.

Épisode 4 - Vampire Soldier

Fire Bomber performs a concert in the city. A new threat has infiltrated the city. All over the city, strange men with masks have been attacking people to steal their Spiritia. The defence force, the Diamond force in particular, protest Basara's constant interferance during battle.

While performing at a gig on another ship in the fleet, Basara encounters a group of girl bike riders lead by a woman named Rex. The Varauta attacks the ship that they are on, and Basara flies into the battle again.

Épisode 6 - First Contact

After constant pressure from her daughter, Millia agrees to let Mylene stay in the band. Millia, however makes one consession that Mylene go out on a date with Gamilin. Mylene is aprehensive, but agrees. Meanwhile, Gamilin tries to find out more about Basara and his Valkerie. As Basara and the band wait for their turn to play at the band competition, the fleet is attack yet again by Gigile and the mysterious fighter group.

Épisode 7 - Summer Accident

The band heads for the resort ship Riviera for a performance. After their performance and a quick swim, Mylene meets Gamilin for a date. All looks well but Gamilin is called into action when the ship is attacked. Basara and Mylene are trapped during the battle.

Épisode 8 - Virgin Bomber

Basara contemplates removing the missile system on his Valkerie. Ray's friend Akiko buys a song Fire Bomber recorded on a hunch that it will become a hit. Gigil confronts Gepernich as to why they are wasting their time on small skirmishes when they could take the whole fleet in one big attack. Gepernich hints that what they learn from the humans could change everything.

Épisode 9 - Angel Night

The band get its first taste of real succes when their song "Planet Dance" makes it to 194 on the top 200 list. Mylene meets famous singer Alice Holiday. The Varauta attack and take Alice's spiritia. The movation behind their attacks begin to be revealed when Gepernich cryptically mentions the "Spiritia Farm Project".

Épisode 10 - Deep Ballad

Ray takes Basara's Valkerie to the UN spacy for repair. Akiko tells Mylene about how she and Ray met and about his past as a fighter pilot. Ray is injured in a Varuata attack, but goes against doctor's orders to return Basara's Valkerie.

Épisode 11 - Minmay Video

Mylene is casted as the lead in the "Linn Minmei story". Mylene is excited about the opportunity, but Basara is, of course, oblivious to this. Mylene's co-star, Bobby, tries to take advantage of her, but he is stopped when a Varauta soldier breaks into their hotel. With Bobby now in a Spiritia coma, Basara is forced to take over the co-staring role.

Épisode 12 - Spiritia Farm

Mylene is kidnapped by a Varauta while on a date with Gamlin. When Basara and the band find out, they run out to go look for her. Gepernich is finally ready to lauch the Spiritia Farm Project, and sends Gigile to attack City 7.

Épisode 13 - Fold Out

As the Macross 7 fleet search, City 7 de-folds in orbit of a strange planet. While the Varauta recharge the fold engines to rendezvous with Gepernich's fleet, Millia and Fire Bomber work to figure out a way to retake the city.

Épisode 14 - Fighting Woman Mayor Milia

Milia works with the others to repair the fold system, and to find a way to reunite with the fleet. The Varauta decide that Basara is a liability to their plans, and plot to have him assassinated.

Épisode 15 - A Girl's Jealousy

To help with the moral in City 7 Milia arranges to have a "Valkyrie Carnival" where citizens can see old and new Valkyries and Destroids. Hoping to fortify the military, she also holds try outs where people can test their skills in Valkyrie simulators. Things get out of hand when a Varauta attack spills over into the Carnival.

Épisode 16 - The Music Box on the Battlefield

Mylene tinkers with Basara's Valkyrie, and insists that he teaches her how to fight. Basara insists that there are other ways of doing things instead of fighting. Later, scientists on City 7 make a break through with the Captured Varauta Soldier.

Épisode 17 - Pretty Devil

Against orders from Gepernich, Gigile travels to a frozen world and uses the Spiritia that he gathered to free a strange alien girl named Sivil. hungering for more Spiritia, she flies off to City 7 where she begins to drain Spiritia from it's fighter Pilots.

Épisode 18 - A Falling Little Devil

Ray is trying to figure out what is it about Basara's music that effects the comatose pilots. Meanwhile in space, Gepernich orders Sivil to retrieve City 7. She takes a fleet to attack City 7, but has her own agenda: to find out more about Basara, and why his music effects her the way it does.

Épisode 19 - A Life Threatening Date

Sivil starts to attack people inside City 7. However, when she hears Basara's music she begins to walk through the streets, and the presence causes the Zentrati to become violent. Elswhere in City 7, a group of terrorists break into the mayor's office, and take Milia hostage.

Épisode 20 - A Lady's Temptation

Fame and battles are starting to take it's toll on Basara. The growing popularity of Fire Bomber starts to become more and more evident in City 7. Dokker, who has recovered from his Spiritia induced coma, has been assigned as the leader of the new, elite Emerald squad.

Épisode 21 - Dangerous Kiss

Fire Bomber is in a studio recording their first album. Unknown to the band, Sivil has possessed Akiko, and tries to seduce Basara. Elsewhere, Max and the captains evaluate the new information gained from their captured Varauta pilot.

Épisode 22 - Men of Burning Passion

City 7 gets trapped in the magnetic pull of a nearby star. Milia, Basara and Gamilin do their best to save the city, but the gravitational pull is too strong. As City 7 teters on the edge of destruction, Gigil and the Varauta attack in a final attempt to capture the city.

Épisode 23 - Sound Force

Fire Bomber puts on a concert to celebrate City 7's reunion with Battle 7 and the fleet. The concert is interupted when Sivil attacks and starts stealing spiritia from people in the crowd. Later, Max meets with Ray to discuss form a new squad called the "Sound Force".

Épisode 24 - Merry Go Round

While Fire Bomber prepares for their "Sound Force" duties, Sivil for some reason is encased in a bubble hidden in a City 7 park. Gamilin is promoted to Lieutenant and given command of the Diamond squad. He requests being assigned to protecting the Sound Force, but instead is placed under the command of Millia, and charged with protecting the city.

Épisode 25 - Midnight Duet

Basara shows up late and leaves early for band practice with the newly-formed “Sound Force”, much to the chagrin of everyone. Gamlin’s new assignment gives him the free time to take Mylene to a rock concert, and Basara gets set up to record a duet with the number one singer on the Galaxy Network, Alice Holiday. Meanwhile Gigil is in the City 7 park absolutely fiending for some high-quality Spiritia.

Épisode 26 - Deathmatch at Planet Lux

The Macross 7 fleet has entered the orbit of the Earth-like planet Lux, and prepare to rendezvous with the Macross 5 fleet that arrived before them. Citizens of City 7 are forbidden from leaving the ship, which means Basara takes it upon himself to not follow orders and head directly for the surface of Lux with Mylene. They get pulled over and the riveting debate and lawyering over whether Sound Force is under civilian or military jurisdiction is interrupted. Also Basara gets to try his new wireless speaker.

Épisode 27 - Rainbow Colored Song Energy

Battle 7 and City 7 are stuck on the surface of planet Lux for awhile until repairs are complete. Dr. Chiba shows Fire Bomber the culmination of his many years of research into Song Energy, and unveils his technology giving the musicians in Fire Bomber a New Type of power,

Épisode 28 - New Sound Weapon

Dr. Chiba shows off some brand new accessories to go with the Sound Force Valkyries and he is really eager to have Sound Force try them. Basara completely spaces out during band practice and then gets grumpy and leaves without telling anyone where he’s going or what he’s doing. Sound Force has to get in their Valkyries and play an important gig without him.

Épisode 29 - Papa and Mama, Love Once Again

Mylene, tired of her parents fighting all the time, plots to get them together one last time. Basara, tired of haters who don't want to listen to his song, forces his enemies listen to his song even harder.

Épisode 30 - The Formula for a Love Triangle

In his typical fashion, Basara is gone and won’t tell anyone where he is or what he is doing. Mylene asks her bodyguard Michael to follow him and get to the bottom of what he is up to. Mylene airs her frustrations to Gamlin who has a surprising admiration for Basara. Gamlin has been inspired by Basara's piloting to practice his QM-69, and despite the physical demands he strives to QM-69 to completion in order to approach Basara's level.

Épisode 31 - Passionate Scandal

A reporter for the Galaxy Sport tabloid has been working on her next big scoop about the mysterious Nekki Basara. Rex drops him off at the sewer where he belongs. The reporter manages to track him down to his super secret busking location in the middle of the City 7 Vegetation Plant, and witnesses him getting beaten to a pulp by a homeless man. But the way he takes the assault is really impressive and I know it sounds stupid when I say it so you would just had to have been there to see it.

Épisode 32 - Jamming Birds

After the resounding success of Dr. Chiba’s Project M, the United Forces hold open auditions for their own unconventional Song Energy team that is a bit more dependable than the band Fire Bomber and the mercurial Nekki Basara. The auditions culminate in the creation The Jamming Birds, a group of civilian wedding singers with zero combat experience. They are immediately strapped into ejection seats and then thrust into battle under live fire.

Épisode 33 - Betrayal and a Girl's Tears

Basara is close to figuring out the reason why he sings. He returns to the City 7 Vegetation Plant to fill Sivil with his Song Energy while she is hibernating in her bubble. Gigil also finally has enough Spiritia collected to revive her, and so they will both have their ambitions come to fruition at long last and nothing could possibly go wrong with their plans.

Épisode 34 - The Day Gigil Sang

Fire Bomber plays a massive concert in a packed venue filled with fans. Basara pouted and left before the concert started but at least this time his bandmates know why. Basara will not come back until he finds something. Gamlin is released from his duty as leader of Diamond Force. Grabil and Valgo fight over who gets gets dibs on Sivil’s fresh surplus Spiritia, and everyone is awestruck when Gigil arrives to stop the infighting and he sings with the voice of an angel.

Épisode 35 - A Night for Just the Two of Us

Basara has only just begun the ultimate pout. People are starting to notice that Fire Bomber is missing it's lead singer and guitarist, so Mylene and Gamlin hop into their Valkyries to find him and try to put an end to this PR disaster. During their awkward camping trip in the wilderness, Mylene’s exotic pet Guvava goes missing. Meanwhile Lord Geperuniti begins his plan for a mutually peaceful and sustainable future for everybody.

Épisode 36 - Men's Passionate Song

Basara has been located, but he flies off again after dreaming about Sivil. Following his instincts, he spots Sivil in an area covered in clouds. However, Basara isn't the only one looking for Sivil, and it is a race against time to save her.

Épisode 37 - The Mystery of the Ruins?

Basara takes off once again, following Sivil on a journey through the galaxy. Back on Planet Lux, Exsedol leaves Battle 7 to investigate some ancient ruins that have suddenly appeared. Gepelnitchi believes the ruins are a danger to his plans.

After discovering his reason for singing, Basara finally returns to reunite with Fire Bomber. Meanwhile, Gepelnitchi moves forward with his Spiritia Farm Project and surrounds Planet Lux with seventy thousand troops, trapping Macross 7 on the planet.

In a strategy meeting regarding the Protodeviln threat, Basara argues for using music to achieve peace. However, the military stands firm on the need to go to war. Sound Force's struggles in their next battle hurt Basara's cause.

The story is set in 2059, five decades after the Space War I conflict seen in the first Macross story. Macross Frontier, the 25th New Macross Class super-long-distance colonization fleet, is journeying through the galaxy to a new paradise to call home. However, it is locked in a state of war with a strange enemy called Vajra. Ozma Lee, the leader of the S.M.S. Skull Team that is fighting the Vajra on the frontlines, encounters a mysterious lifeform, different from even the Vajra, one day. This mysterious lifeform shares visual memories of a certain other colonization fleet with Ozma and two other Macross Frontier characters, Ranka and Sheryl. Note: The 90-minute title takes remastered and re-edited footage from the Macross 7 television series and combines it with brand-new Macross Frontier footage to create a "completely new form of entertainment." The "hybrid rock anime" is billed as a "miraculous duet" between the two parts of the Macross franchise.
