55-year-old Uekusa Chiaki (Taguchi Tomorow) creates architectural models and has gained a following on social media for his interest in nostalgic and cute “girly architecture”. 26-year-old Haruno Fuji (Ikeda Eliza) works for an advertising agency and dreams of opening her own cafe with her friend Ayako. She has been following Uekusa’s account for ideas. They get acquainted through social media and gradually connect with each other as they tour architectural masterpieces. Fuji has a lot to worry about in work and in love. But she is moved and emboldened by Uekusa’s offhand comments coming from his peculiar set of values and unique perspective, to move forward.

Épisode 1 - Institut Francais Tokyo

Haruno Fuji agrees to meet Uekusa Chiaki at the Institut Francais Tokyo, a French school founded in 1952. The impressive building was designed by Sakakura Junzo, a leading architect of the Japanese modernist style. Uekusa was impressed by the double tiered spiral staircase and was fascinated by the architecture.

When Fuji is feeling down, she gets invited out to lunch with Chiaki again. This time they go to the 100 year old Jiyuu Gakuen Myonichikan, an all girls school designed by the world-renowned Frank Lloyd Wright. Fuji winds up with a more positive outlook.

Fuji takes Chiaki's advice and decides to restore her friendship with Ayako. Suddenly, her former boyfriend Kengo appears before her.
