ITV1’s drama Love Life follows the faltering relationship of Joe and Lucy. Once an average couple, Lucy’s decision to come off the pill triggers Joe’s fear of settling down and sends him packing to the nearest airport to travel the world. Twelve months later, Joe returns from his adventures and is ready to rekindle his love for Lucy, but there’s one problem. Lucy is having another man’s baby. Joe faces his biggest test yet. Is he finally prepared to grow up, stop running away, and confront his feelings?

Épisode 1 - Episode 1

Joe returns from a year abroad and is shocked to find that the girl he loves is pregnant. Lucy has told no-one who the father is, but Joe discovers it is her married boss Dominic - whose wife Penny is having trouble conceiving. Joe confronts him, but Dominic has no idea Lucy is pregnant. All four lives are thrown into turmoil - and then the baby arrives.

Dom looks for a caravan with Lucy and baby Arthur inside. After finding them he doesn’t know how to tell Lucy the reason for his visit. He manages to bite the bullet though and just says it. Penny wants the baby. The action the n reverts to two days earlier. At the hospital, Will helps his daughter pack her things and get ready to head home for the first time with baby Arthur. Joe shows to help, and the three of them leave together. Dom finds it hard to keep his secret from Penny , whose behaviour makes life harder for him as she attempts to arrange a romantic weekend away. Penny ends up following Dom after he leaves for a business meeting. When Lucy goes home she finds Will's flat empty and they learn the bailiffs have taken everything. Dom shows up and sees Joe with Lucy and assumes that Joe is now back with Lucy, and Joe does nothing to contradict this. As Dom holds the baby, Penny watches on. Joe arranges for Lucy and the baby to stay at his brother Dez's caravan in a holiday park nearby. Dom ends up admitting the truth to Penny that he had an affair and that Arthur is his child. Penny ends up loosing control of the car, and drives through a cemetery fence. After going to see her mother, Penny ends up deciding that she wants to raise the baby with Dom.

Penny is out shopping for baby gear, while Liz is trying to talk some sense into her. Dom tells Penny after she returns home that he went to see Lucy to talk about their situation. Joe goes to see Lucy in the caravan with some supplies. Joe informs her that he has booked a flight to Argentina and that he will be out of her hair soon. Lucy asks Joe to look after Arthur tomorrow morning for a couple of hours as there is something important she needs to do. Will calls his daughter to say sorry for being a bad father. Dom goes to see Liz at the nursing home and tells her that he thinks he could be in love with Lucy. Penny goes to see Joe at work and tells him she thinks something’s still going on between Dom and Lucy. She thinks they’re going to run away together which leaves Joe feeling shocked. When Lucy shows up with the baby, Joe attempts to find out from her where she is going. Will goes to see Dom and comes up with a plan to help his daughter. When Lucy shows up to see Penny she accuses her of trying to steal her husband. After Lucy is arrested following an altercation involving Penny and Liz, Joe shows up at the police station and asks her to marry him. Lucy meets with Dom and tells him about Joe's marriage proposal. Will gambles the money that Dom gave him but manages to win £5000 and calls his daughter.
