The lawyer Barbara Foscarini shows up at the Cuccia, the place where the Alligator found refuge after being released from prison. Alberto Magagnin, her client, seems to have disappeared into thin air. Magagnin is a provincial gigolo, a poor Christ whom the Alligator met in prison, where a friendship was born that continued to bind them despite the distance. The Alligator has a strong motivation to accept the case, he does not hesitate, he immediately sets to work, he discovers that Magagnin has started again with heroin and that, above all, he was having an affair with a woman more mature than him, Piera Belli.

Dal caso Magagnin riemergono tracce del passato di Buratti, quando era un cantante blues innamorato di Greta e, soprattutto, indagando sugli intrighi di potere, sulla sua strada ricompare Tristano Castelli.

A young Colombian, stopped by the police at the Venice airport, is found in possession of cocaine and confesses that he had to deliver it to the 'Zodiaco' pension. The policemen go to the appointment and, when Nazzareno Corradi knocks on the door of the room, they arrest him accusing him of international drug trafficking. The lawyer Bonotto, who defends Corradi, contacts the Alligator. He believes his client is the victim of a plot, a police revenge for a robbery that took place years earlier in which two officers died. The Alligator once again decides to take the case.
