Un matin, Wataru Hoshino trouve une jeune fille en sous-vêtements endormie dans sa chambre. Elle se réveille alors et prend rapidement la fuite par le fenêtre, sans oublier de coller un pain dans la figure de Wataru. Cette fille, Rinna Sawaki, finit par être transférée comme étudiante dans l'école de Wataru, et se révèle même être sa nouvelle colocataire de dortoir. Il vit avec quatre autres filles et leurs enseignantes. Mais en raison de la fermeture de l'entreprise d'aviation Temizugawa, la plus grande entreprise du sud de l'île de Sakojima, les familles qui y travaillent doivent être évacuées au cours de l'année. Les quatre filles doivent donc quitter l'île dans ce délais. Rinna, au courant de la situation, refuse de devenir amie avec Wataru et les autres, ayant peur de souffrir au moment de leur séparation. Mais Wataru n'est pas de cet avis, et compte bien lui faire entendre raison.
