Ryuichi Kanzaki is a serious, career detective with a touch of humanism who is mortified when he is assigned a new partner in Kenji Kuroki, an ultra hard-nosed, rough-and-tumble cop. With their diametrically-opposed personalities and views on life, they form an odd pair battling crime in highly-satisfying police drama style. Kanzaki is seeking to follow in the path of his policeman father whom he greatly admires. Kuroki boasts the highest arrest rate on the force through his strong gut feelings and perceptive mind. But the two men share one secret that mustn’t get out: they are half-brothers. They may think and act very differently, but therein lies their biggest crime-fighting weapons.

Meanwhile, armed robbers break into the home of a local beauty salon owner and security camera footage points to the involvement of one of her employees. The young man strenuously denies the charges at first but suddenly changes his story and confesses. Ryuichi senses something isn’t right and together he and Kenji begin to investigate…

Ryuichi and Kenji investigate a series of violent home invasion burglaries targeting local elderly residents. One of the victims, who was knocked nearly unconscious during the robbery, tells them he overheard his assailants discussing their next crime. When the two half-brothers learn the victims were all members of the same ballroom dance club, they go undercover to try to track down the perpetrators. Meanwhile, word of their secret leaks out, threatening to put an end to their partnership!

The Ikebukuro Police Department’s violent crimes unit receives a missing person’s report about a high school girl. At first, Ryuichi and Kenji suspect that she ran away from home. But they launch an investigation upon finding out that the girl’s mother, an elite government bureaucrat, claims her daughter has been kidnapped. Not convinced by the mother’s testimony, Ryuichi goes undercover as a student at the girl’s school to try to find out the truth.

Meanwhile, Kenji learns that the life of Inspector Sawanobori, who led the hostage crisis investigation, is in grave danger. He rushes to find Sawanobori only to discover that his elusive father, Kenzo, has got there first! Can the badge brothers mend their familial bonds even though they aren’t really blood relations? What will they ultimately decide?
