Brighton resident Jane Longhurst had a full time job as a teacher, loved music and playing the viola, and was in a stable relationship, so her disappearance in 15 March 2003 was completely out of character. Sussex Police launched a huge investigation to try and find out what happened to Jane and a huge media campaign ensued. But the worst fears of friends and family were realised when the body of a woman was found 5 weeks later. Where had Jane been during those missing weeks and who had killed her? The truth of what happened to Jane would prove darker and more twisted than anyone feared.

While Sophie’s boyfriend survived this terrible ordeal, Sophie sadly died and the police were now hunting for a murderer. Sophie and her boyfriend were Goths who stood out from the crowd.
