Tony Stark est à la tête d'une multinationale qui est sous la menace continuelle des forces du mal représentées par le Mandarin. Pour combattre cette menace et protéger la planète, il décide avec son ami Jim Rhodes de créer 2 armures de combat en métal... Stark vêtu de cette armure se renomme Iron Man (qui sera sa nouvelle identité secrète) et Rhodes, War Machine. Il seront ensuite rejoints par une équipe complète de super héros, Spider-Woman, Hawkeye, Scarlet Witch, pour former les Vengeurs et ainsi se lancer pleinement dans la bataille contre le Mandarin...

But Tony manages to escape to Jim and Su-Yin, who helps build an armor immune to the anti-technology field. Iron Man and War Machine are now ready for the final battle.
