Based in the 1930's of Shanghai, China, this drama is a story about love, friendship, patriotism and desire. Shin Jung Tae (Kim Hyun Joong) is an outrageous and clumsy man, but has an unconditional love for his country and family. He was known as the best fighter in the alleys of Shanghai.

Jung Tae works hard to make money for his sister's surgery. Jung Tae's friend, Jjang Ddol, hears that they can get big amounts of money by investing in smuggling, by the help of a man named Poong Cha. Later, they discover that they were conned and the money was stolen. Jung Tae goes to get revenge from Poong Cha who is in Do Bi Gang after his money was stolen.

Later, Jung Tae's sister collapse and was saved by Jung Tae's father. Jung Tae in need of money, goes to jump from 30 meters bridge at Yalu River to joint the Do Bi Nori (Train jumpers).

Aka an assassin kills Gaya's father, but Gaya misunderstands and thinks Jung Tae's father killed him. She vows to kill Jung Tae and his father.
