Chaque année, des centaines d'innocents sont condamnés pour des crimes qu'ils n'ont pas commis, à cause de policiers véreux, de faux témoignages ou de jurés manipulés. David Swayne dirige le Projet Justice, une organisation composée de jeunes associés déterminés à libérer les innocents et à découvrir les coupables. Swayne est assisté de son partenaire Charles Conti, ex-flic reconverti en détective.
