Basé sur le roman Hatena☆Illusion de Matsu Tomohiro. Makoto Shiranui, jeune lycéen entamant sa première année au lycée, vient d'arriver à Tokyo pour rechercher un apprentissage chez une connaissance de ses parents : Hoshisato Mamoru, un illusionniste très célèbre. Depuis l'observation d'une performance de Mamoru et sa femme, Makoto a toujours voulu devenir un illusionniste. Lors de son arrivée à la résidence des Hoshisato connue comme une maison hantée, Makoto reçoit un accueil chaleureux de Jeeves, le majordome et d'Emma, la femme de chambre. Cependant, il ne reçoit pas le même accueil de la part de son amie d'enfance Kana, avec qui il entretient une relation plutôt tendue. Durant ses années de lycée, Makoto va ainsi apprendre la magie en faisant de nouvelles rencontres plus spéciales les unes que les autres.
