Épisode 1 - Episode 1

Back in high school, Mu-chul, Dae-sik, and Gyu-tae swore eternal friendship as Cheonha Trio. Fast forward 42 years, Mu-chul is a rich but stingy real estate investor who owns multiple buildings while Gyu-tae and Dae-sik run their own businesses in one of Mu-chul's buildings. Dae-sik is in a tight spot financially and doesn't know what to do after being denied a loan.

Épisode 2 - Episode 2

Dae Sik and Hye Sook are upset that Mu Chul let another fried chicken joint open in the building. While Dae Sik is struggling to figure out how he is going to pay his rent, Mu Chul suddenly announces that he wants to raise the rent and the security deposit by a whopping 100,000 dollars. Meanwhile, the stock Tae Ha owns suddenly starts to drop, and Tae Ha gets a business idea when visiting a crypto-mining facility.

Dae Sik feels hopeless and desperate on the brink of bankruptcy. Gyu Tae can relate to Dae Sik's frustrations and feels bad that there isn't much he can do to help. Meanwhile, Mi Ja sees a text message from a woman named Jang Mi on Mu Chul's phone and decides to try dialing the number to find out what's going on.

Hye Sook's daughter, Mi Jin, finds out about the security deposit increase and wants to ask her husband, Gwang Sik, if he can take out a loan through his new job. After a night out with Mr. Jang and Jang Mi, Mu Chul calls Dae Sik drunk to have Dae Sik drive him and his car home and gives him a lottery ticket in return.

Unable to meet Mu Chul's request for the security deposit increase, Dae Sik decides to close his restaurant in Daewoon Building and also move out of Mu Chul's house. Mu Chul suddenly can't reach Mr. Jang after investing money in his project. Meanwhile, Dae Sik's son, Seok Jin, runs into Seo Woo in front of the house, and Seo Woo thinks he followed her home.

Seok Jin tells the family that he was able to start Farm to Market thanks to the generous investment from Tae Hyung's father. Tae Ha borrows a crypto-mining machine from his friend to present his business plan to his father, Mu Chul. However, Ah Jin breaks the machine by mistake, and Tae Ha demands that she buy him a new one. Meanwhile, Dae Sik has a strange dream where he sees his late mother.

Mi Ja is appalled when she sees another text message from Jang Mi. Hye Sook and Ah Jin are disappointed when they find out that they didn't win the lottery, but the family throws a surprise birthday party for Dae Sik. Meanwhile, Dae Sik remembers the lottery ticket Mu Chul gave him with numbers that match the date when the construction of Daewoon Building was completed.

Dae Sik even goes through the dumpster but can't find the lottery ticket Mu Chul gave him. Hye Sook is devastated that the family has to move when they can't afford it. Mi Ja feels betrayed by Mu Chul because of Jang Mi, and Mu Chul is hurt when the family doesn't even seem to care when he cuts his finger by accident. Meanwhile, Dae Sik thinks Mu Chul took the lottery ticket and sneaks into his room.

Seok Jin finds out that Tae Hyung is engaged and that he is getting married soon, but Tae Hyung asks him to keep it from Seo Woo. Mi Ja sees Jang Mi in front of the Daewoon Building and follows her to catch her husband in the act. Ah Jin decides to lend Tae Ha 30,000 dollars and makes him sign a promissory note. Meanwhile, Hye Sook and Dae Sik decide to forget about the lottery ticket, not knowing that it's somewhere very close.

After quitting her job in the heat of the moment, Mi Jin finds out that her husband, Gwang Sik, got fired from his new job a while ago but has been hiding it from her. Mu Chul calls Mr. Jang upon learning that the deposit he promised him hasn't arrived but can't reach him. Meanwhile, Dae Sik hears something shocking about the lottery ticket from Ji Woo, his granddaughter.

Dae Sik and Hye Sook finally manage to get their hands on the winning lottery ticket they thought they'd never find. Mi Ja feels deeply hurt and betrayed that her husband, Mu Chul, is having an affair, while Mu Chul is anxious that he can't reach Mr. Jang. Meanwhile, Mu Chul notices that Dae Sik and Hye Sook are acting out of the ordinary and wonders why.

Épisode 12 - Episode 12

Dae Sik and Hye Sook go to pick up the prize money together but run into Mu Chul and end up turning around before they can even claim the money. Gyu Tae is upset that everyone thinks he is a pushover who always bends over backward for Mu Chul. To make matters worse, Gyu Tae's only son, Min Yong, suddenly collapses due to chest pain.

Gyu Tae now needs a large sum of money to save his only son, Min Yong, who needs urgent surgery for his heart condition. Feeling desperate, Gyu Tae swallows his pride and reaches out to Mu Chul for help, hoping to borrow money from him. Meanwhile, Mi Ja has a one-on-one with Jang Mi and teaches her a lesson, and Mu Chul hears that Mr. Jang showed up and rushes over to his office.

Seok Jin keeps running into Seo Woo and tries to keep her from finding out that Tae Hyung is engaged. Mu Chul learns that Mr. Jang opened a bank account in his name to scam several people out of their money and now has to find evidence to prove that he is a victim too. Feeling desperate, Mu Chul remembers his lottery ticket and discovers that it has the winning numbers.

Mu Chul confronts Dae Sik about the lottery ticket, but Dae Sik says he tore it up and threw it away. Creditors show up at Mu Chul's house, and Mu Chul goes to the bank only to learn that his accounts have been seized and that he can't withdraw any money. Mu Chul decides to transfer the ownership of his buildings to his wife, Mi Ja, and reaches out to Gyu Tae. Meanwhile, Dae Sik goes to the bank to cash in the lottery ticket.

Épisode 16 - Episode 16

Mu Chul and his family now have to stay at a motel as creditors are after them, while Dae Sik and Hye Sook feel like they no longer have anything to worry about after cashing in the lottery winnings. Gyu Tae is in desperate need of money to pay for his son Min Yong's surgery, and Mu Chul surprises him with an offer to transfer the ownership of his buildings to his name.

Gyu Tae ends up lying to Mu Chul about the sale of the Yisan Building, thinking it is the only way he can pay Min Yong's medical bills. Gyu Tae decides to keep it to himself, while Dae Sik feels frustrated that he can't tell Gyu Tae about winning the lottery. Meanwhile, Mu Chul plans to leave the country to escape prosecution, and Geum Ok notices that Hye Sook is unusually chipper.

Mu Chul and his family return home as they have nowhere else to go, and Mu Chul drops a bombshell on his wife, Mi Ja.

Mu Chul tells Mi Ja to sign divorce papers so they can at least protect the house from the creditors while on the verge of losing everything, but Mi Ja feels deeply betrayed when she hears this. Meanwhile, Seo Woo sees Tae Hyung with a woman and wonders who she might be, and Mu Chul finds out that his son, Tae Ha, got scammed and lost all his money too.

The police visit Mu Chul's house and tell Mi Ja that Mu Chul was found dead. In shock and disbelief, Mi Ja and her children go to identify the body of the man found dead at the construction site. Meanwhile, Dae Sik and Gyu Tae also hear about Mu Chul's death and can't stop feeling utterly remorseful and guilty.

At Mu Chul's funeral, people wonder why Mi Ja doesn't look all that sad. The creditors show up at the funeral and cause a scene, harassing Mu Chul's family that they must hand over the condolence money. Meanwhile, Mu Chul ends up at his own funeral and thinks it might actually be for the better if people believe he is dead.

After Mu Chul's funeral, Gyu Tae is excited that the Daewoon Building is technically all his now, while Dae Sik is haunted by guilt. Mi Ja finds out that Mu Chul's buildings have been seized and that the family is left with nothing. While feeling utterly distraught and hopeless, Mi Ja remembers Mu Chul saying something about selling the Yisan Building before he died.

Dae Sik and Gyu Tae push the guilt aside and go about their lives but end up getting into an argument while talking about how they should help Mu Chul's family who has lost everything. Ah Jin panics when she realizes that Tae Ha's watch is nowhere to be seen, and Seo Woo freezes in shock when she runs into Tae Hyung while attending a friend's wedding.

Seo Woo gets drunk after Tae Hyung's wedding and confronts Seok Jin about deceiving her. Knowing that Mu Chul's house is about to be auctioned off, Gyu Tae and Dae Sik try to help Mi Ja by offering her money, but she declines. Meanwhile, Hye Sook gets upset upon discovering that Dae Sik tried to give money to Mi Ja to help her out when he still refuses to help his own children financially.

Dae Sik plans to buy Mu Chul's house, but Hye Sook wants to move as she can't give up on her dream of living in a nice apartment complex. Meanwhile, Gyu Tae wants to grow the money he obtained by lying to Mu Chul, and Ah Jin discovers that loan sharks are after Tae Ha because he blew the money he borrowed from her.

Mu Chul miraculously regains his consciousness after seeing his grandmother in his dream. Dae Sik wins the auction for Mu Chul's house, while Gyu Tae starts spending Mu Chul's money frivolously and isn't afraid to show it. Meanwhile, Mu Chul leaves the man's house to go home and realizes that so much has changed.

Mu Chul is shocked upon realizing that he is an old-timer, not a young man in his early 20s. Knowing that Mu Chul's buildings have also been seized, Dae Sik thinks he might be able to buy the Daewoon Building as well, and Gyu Tae tells him someone already bought the building. Meanwhile, Seok Jin urges Tae Hyung to apologize to Seo Woo.

Mu Chul behaves like a completely different person with his memory lost, and Hye Sook discovers that her husband, Dae Sik, won Mu Chul's house in the auction and that he is planning not to move. Gyu Tae is excited about collecting rent as the landlord and owner of the Daewoon Building, but Mu Chul suddenly shows up in front of him.

Hye Sook is furious that Dae Sik participated in the auction for Mu Chul's house without telling her and even won it, while Mi Ja and her children have nowhere to go now that their home has been sold and is no longer theirs. Seok Jin's business faces a crisis as he finds out that Tae Hyung was the one who told his father to withdraw the investment. After all that excitement about moving to a new apartment complex in Gangnam, Mi Ja suddenly has nowhere to go on her moving day, and Dae Sik and Gyu Tae try to persuade her to move into the downstairs unit of the house. Meanwhile, Gyu Tae collects Mu Chul's hair sample to order a DNA test to confirm whether he really is Mu Chul.
