Maiken and Jacob's relationship has stalled. Townhouse, "project baby" and life as an adult have extinguished the last spark between them. But all that changes the day nurse Ida comes into their lives. Ida is Norwegian, beautiful and colourful, and suddenly Maiken's otherwise sensible and decent life has been breathed back into life. Both in the hospital and in private life.

Maiken and Ida have become close friends and spend a lot of time together. At the hospital, Jacob has to participate in his first major operation, but the operation does not go as planned, much to Jacob's frustration. In an attempt to cheer Jacob up, Maiken and Ida take him on a wet night out that ends with a heavily intoxicated Jacob coming to a head with a close friend from Maiken's past.

The day after a wild city trip, Maiken and Ida have to go to work. They have hangovers and are back stiff. This irritates the experienced nurse Anette, who feels that Ida has a bad influence on Maiken. The atmosphere on the ward hits zero, as during the day a life-threatening situation arises that puts a patient's life at risk. An experience that affects Maiken deeply and that shakes the entire department.

Maiken, Ida and Jacob spend the night in Maiken's childhood home on weekends while waiting for the results of the investigation. Jacob becomes so frustrated that he gives Maiken an ultimatum - who does she want to date. Him or Ida?
